*2/25/17-2/25/22!!!!! FIVE YEARS OF NEW RECRUITS!!!!

A special drop celebrating 5 YEARS of this thread & we are still going!
As a long time Tank member - when I think back, & Hasbro's retail run was over , & the Club was coming to an end, I was fresh off of building years of Glyos figures as an additional toy hobby when I started bashing together my 1st MTF figure based on an obscure Military-1 homage... & how it took me a while before I actually bought some more from MGR... & then threw the 1st batch up here on the Tank to see if anyone else would like them (as a GI Joe spin-off story with the short bios included)... That short burst eventually became a long journey, & I am thankful for everyone who has joined me here along the way.

I'm also thinking about how much MGR building became an even bigger hobby during these strange times, while working from home, creatively growing with the catalog, & finding new ways to express my recreations with (eventually) other additional toy-lines & customized parts. The thrill that comes from making a new post, & waiting to see the opinions of friends of this thread... This really is fun for me, thanks everyone. You all have inspired me in many ways.

I am lucky enough that I had 15+ figures again (completely finished) to choose 5 from for this drop, as it's always fun trying to make a varied & dynamic selection. And for the 5 years spent, I also wanted to start by sharing another chapter of the fiction by introducing the next season (& yes, the other seasons still have more characters to go)... ;-) But now we have a sneak peek of SEASON 10..."WET WORLD!"

SEASON 1: MARAUDER TASK FORCE (a military special forces team is reborn to battle against the GUNRUNNERS!)

Keel Haul is unusual as he is 1 of like 3 Sunbow-era Joes that never appeared on the cartoon. So my only attachment to him was the fact that my childhood best friend had the USS Flagg, which meant some prime playtime, but never owning him as a child myself, meant that he was light for consideration when it came to my MTF Roster. When I decided that my MTF Universe 10th season story line was going to be a future tale of a City Rig with it's battle on the sea, I needed a new naval-type commander & that's where Keel-Haul comes in! I went through a couple iterations of him before finding the right MTF combo you see here with the new MTF (originally BF) brown vest & DNL head!

After the Future War... The Earth is now completely flooded, & humanity has left for new life in space, leaving the minority that is still surviving on Earth to live on floating city rigs above the water, & defend against the enemy remnants that still wish to rule the Wet World. The biggest & most powerful of the rigs is located in Sector 7 named the Atlantis. It's commander is ADMIRAL EVERETT "SHARK BITE" COLBY. A once former champion chess player (now an expert strategist) who joined the navy, SHARK BITE is currently one of the most powerful men on the planet. He earned his code name from an actual shark bite he took on his leg while defending his crew on a sinking vessel many years ago. Some say the necklace he wears is the teeth from that very shark pried from his leg. Now he faces off against the villainy vying for his city from the DARK WATER TRIAD of WRATH, M.A.R.S., & the NEO-NOKS. SHARK BITE is all business, a stern & serious commander with the weight of what's left of the world on his shoulders... while others have abandoned it. Atlantis will never fall!

Finally found a good use for that remaining head from the Dime Novel Legends "Most Wanted-Head Pack" lol... I had a few ideas for this head over the past year, but it finally landed when I did a parts-bin build of the Conplan Commandos Cross Country. It's a great fit for the character, & when I have more unique heads I hate to just cover them up with a helmet, as it helps their uniqueness stand out more on the shelf. In this Alternate World story line (Wet World is continuing from the Maraudergeddon/Future War story line), this is the same person as ARAH Cross Country in the normal timeline, just an alternate version - rather than being a different character all together (like in the Funskool-verse...)

Destined for the Olympics before the Future War era, HAVOC'S life course changed when the Earth was lost to the rising sea levels & he found himself joining the military to become a lead physical trainer for troops in athleticism & stamina. Endlessly patient, & firecely loyal, HAVOC was hand picked by ADMIRAL SHARK BITE to be Atlantis' lead physical trainer for the troops, after a successful tenure several years ago at various training facilities across the globe.

THIS IS SPARTA!!!!! For those who remember, Sparta (based on the cool Joecon 2011 figure) was my avatar for the longest time, as the art I created was the last of my Joe-girl avatars I did a decade ago. So I have an attachment to the character & wanted to recreate her in my MTF Universe. She was originally part of the 15-20 MTF figures I had built back in 2020 with expectations of the 2020 MGR new heads to be released on the horizon. Well it's 2022 and the wait goes on lol. But no worries, as I was unhappy with that "on hold" Sparta build. As I was building both Sparta & (as of now, my still unreleased) Cover Girl build in unison to keep them looking different from each other, I liked what I did for the still unreleased Cover Girl, but not for Sparta. So this year I went back to the think-tank, abandoned my MTF Sparta & rebuilt a new one entirely from Boss Fight! Now, I am very happy because she is COMPLETELY different from my unreleased Cover Girl build (hopefully coming soon) & stands out on her own, rather than being just a different color/build version of my MTF Cover Girl... Oh, & the tank top is from Planet Green Valley. ;-)

As a child LUXE wanted to see the world. Pretty, intelligent, & motivated, she started as a failing actress in Z-grade Argentinian movies. Determined to be more than eye candy for the camera (& still see the world), she joined the military which eventually lead to the South American special forces and STRONG ARM. Posing as a prisoner, STRONG ARM will use her as leverage when they meet up against the MARAUDER TASK FORCE in the race for alien technology! Will she be taken in by the MTF? And with her devilish good looks, wit, & charm, what secrets will she uncover?

Firefly, version 7 (or version 8... if you count the War Machine "Saboteur" figure) is the character I have done the most homages of in this entire thread. So I think when celebrating 5 years of this thread, he needed to be included lol. You might think he is my favorite Cobra member, but that title probably belongs to Storm Shadow... with that said, between my own builds, & a few thrown in by the MGR "Geared-Up" releases, Firefly holds the MTF Universe crown. I've built a lot of Jinxs, Scarletts, Dukes, but Firefly beats them all. And as many as I have built (or have been MGR given), I still knew I wanted to include the Crimson Guard Force version from TRU when I saw the Insurgent-Ops Trooper body lol.
Is this my last one? ?\_( ͡ᵔ ͜ʖ ͡ᵔ )_/?

SAPPER has been hired by WRATH & M.A.R.S. to lead a squad of troops (including his own INSURGENT TROOPERS) into the RED ZONE, his mission: to uncover what secrets can be gained from the mysterious base's world sinking efforts. In case things go awry, the joint organizations know that SAPPER can handle himself, & if not, he is expendable as a "gun for hire" with no real provable ties. But what SAPPER doesn't know, is that the MTF hasn't sent in a whole army for him, but just a one-man-army... named DEAD EYE!

Long time readers of this thread know that I am a big fan of Japan & go there on vacation. A lot of my time in Tokyo is spent in the Underground Idol circuit taking in live shows, entertainment, pictures, food, & quality time with those involved in the industry. I have done a few loose homages to this scene in the early numbers of this thread, but when I saw this custom painted head (& got a good offer to buy it on Ebay), it instantly reminded me of the girls I am so attached to in Tokyo & want to revisit again soon. I wanted to build a more accurate style idol-homage, even if it is not based on someone specific, & is more of an overall tribute (like the Sukeban, & Kunoichi figures that I recently made.) I futzed around with her for quite awhile, as I really wanted to create something special this round. The Boss Fight body was the best choice here for both the body-type & skin revealed, along with some of their accessorizing. I also used a Planet Green Valley top, AVAC'S Lab Akiba maid-style custom skirt, & a Lego microphone! This one's a real cutie in person (the head is beautifully painted) & a stand out on the shelf, & I personally feel she's a great homage to the "chika-idol" culture that I love & have been a part of for years!

SORA was a popular underground idol & punk clothes model when Japan met it's fate to global warming & was mostly submerged underwater in the Future War. Known for her kawaii looks, strong voice, & charm points, she was a favorite of many, & even attracted some unwanted attention, due to her success around the clubs with her idol group "The Melon Sodas," during a stint in Shinjuku's Red Light District. When Japan's watery fate came & utter chaos had ensued, the Yakuza captured SORA & she is now their prisoner. Still performing her idol duties solo, & strictly for the Yakuza's entertainment to stay alive, she is reduced to skimpy outerwear, long hours, & constant supervision. But SORA finally sees a glimmer of hope when 3 Ninja... identified as YUREI KAGE, YAKU, & ????? ???, cross the Yakuza's path during the heroic team's raid of their compound!
