NEW RECRUITS!!!!! ***300 FIGURE MILESTONE DROP***

Once again we are at a milestone number for this thread. Every time I think we are not going to be able to reach the next big number... somehow we do lol. Thanks as always to the friends of this thread (old & new) for their continuous enthusiasm, as it always adds fuel to the fire to keep this journey going. I was lucky enough to have 15 custom/kit-bashed figures completely finished to choose from at the time of this 300th mark... and I decided to pick the 5 that were the most Marauder-build driven to honor how this thread originated... As a way to build more obscure military+ characters easily, inspire creativity, & add them to your own collection!

#296/X90. CYBER TROOPER(S) (RED ZONE VERSION) (based on VvV Cobra B.A.T. ver 10 & 11 '04)
M.A.R.S/Wrath

A head color that I liked listed from ebay seller cobra1678 inspired this custom, along with the potential of adding that saw blade attachment option from Boss Fight. A kind of cross reference build between the Cobra B.A.T. versions 10 & 11, (along with some of my own vision), made for a nifty VvV influenced homage!

The CYBER TROOPERS in the Red Zone are the main defense within the inner perimeter setup by M.A.R.S. Industries to guard the secret facility from outsiders while SAPPER extracts the needed intel before destroying it. They are armored, equipped with an interchangeable hand that can harness many attachments, (such as a saw), & are carrying a flamethrower (as an "end game" option) programmed to assist with the final destruction of the Red Zone in case of emergency, (or after SAPPER completes his operations.) CYBER TROOPERS can be on watch 24 hours a day & require minimal maintenance, the perfect way to keep your defenses always running!

#297/X91. THE BRIDE (based on the G.I Joe Adventure Team "The Bride Of Dr. Isotope"custom)

I always feel that when the MGR Team sends me something cool as a freebie, I have to use it, such is the case with this all-blue Valkyrie "Athena" head. I also want it to shine on it's own merits & not alter it/cover it up. At first I thought I was going to make "Mara" or a synthoid from the classic GI Joe Sunbow cartoon, but then I stumbled across this neat Adventure Team 12" custom made to be the "Bride Of Dr. Isotope." I've seen at least 3 versions of this custom, (different head colors), but based it mostly on the cool box art!

Dr. Adams lost his new wife during the Final Wars due to an accident in part caused by the MTF. Furious, he kept his dead wife preserved & offered his services to WRATH in hopes of scientific advancement against the MTF, & also to use their research facilities to bring his "BRIDE" back from the dead. Using cloning research & her DNA, he has been able to create a near perfect duplicate of her secretly, while still keeping his bosses happy at Wrath. But while trying to activate life into the clone, something strange happened, her body turned blue and upon consciousness she rejected Dr. Adams making a "new version" of her. Upon her trying to escape, WRATH security captured her, & when reported back to their leader MASTERMIND of her unusual creation, he advised Dr. Adams to continue his research with her, for future cloning possibilities within WRATH'S ranks!

#298/X92. FALLBACK (NIGHT SURVIVALIST VERSION) (based on GI Joe 25th Anniversary Night Force Outback)

I had Night Force Outback as well as the original (& the 25th versions) growing up, & he was always (1 of 2 *more* versions) on my radar as an easy MGR build to make... but having had 2 versions of him in the ranks already, I needed him to offer a little more excitement. The original was that gray-een color that offered little build drive, but the 25th version did something more interesting with a gray top & tan vest, that when I saw the Boss Fight vest offered, I knew I had the inspiration I needed to finally build my NF Outback! So far, this is my favorite build of the character. ;-)

During the Future War, the infamous FALLBACK became even more valued by the Team, as things started shifting from the MTF's survival, to human survival. The current MTF had to start various extraction missions, most of which would happen at night, & FALLBACK was there to lead the way if things went south. Often rescuing civilians in hostile situations, FALLBACK would have to guide team members & civilians alike, sometimes for several days, until they could reach a safe zone for bigger rescue. His work behind enemy lines, his inner knowledge of all terrains (& the constantly changing environment, due to rising global water levels), make FALLBACK the one choice for success!

Saw this brown rags cape on Ebay & wanted to use it on a custom! Not a lot of capes in Joe, so I needed to improvise... The Ninja Cobra Strike Team (brown) Storm Shadow came to mind & I had my build. He's all MGR desert outfitted except the Boss Fight tekkokagi & I bought an extra POC rope bandolier to complete the look! He was originally going to partner up with Yaku (Jinx) for their big new Japan adventure but didn't have the right look for that narrative/partnership, so there is still more Stormy to come!

YUREI KAGE has a loose relationship with the MTF due to he doesn't always agree with their often too-rigid structure, & only comes in on special assignment when asked by the chosen 2 members he trusts. In the time after the Armageddon Wars ended & the Future War began, he went solo to the USA Wastelands, using a modified MTF Arrow ATV, delivering vigilante off-the-grid justice to villainy & earning the nick-name "Wasteland Warrior!"

How many of the faithful here knew figure #300 would be Jinx? LOL! For those keeping track, she was also figure 100 & 200, & in the tradition of her being the 100th slotted figure continues here with an IDW-inspired version. She was completed a couple months ago, but like many, she was put in the holding queue until her time is right, & I held her for #300. ;-) I've wanted to make this version of Jinx for awhile now, & once again used a beautifully painted Spartan 1:18 head for her alternate Season 8-9 universe look. The sash is from Boss Fight & I got creative with fitting the leg wraps. Jinxsy will always be one of my favorite Joes, & I hope you enjoyed this journey all the way to figure #300 as much as I have!

After Japan was among the first of the nations to sink mostly below sea level, most of the islands inhabitants moved on to safer grounds (for the time being), but for those who remained, Japan has gone radio silent. Determined to find out the situation of her homeland, YAKU requested that she go back to Japan to find out the current state of her country. The MTF agreed & expressed interest in her findings of the once allied (now fallen), sunken nation. YAKU requested that YUREI KAGE join her, & her cousin agreed to come in for such an important mission. What they will find there is a mostly a drowned island, with the remaining high ground under control of Hilko Labs monstrous female creations, warring Yakuza, & rogue ninja. Dawning her battle armor, this will be YAKU'S most dangerous mission yet!
