Thanks brother! I also really appreciate your continued kindness & hype for this thread! You always make a point to check in & give your thoughts & it means a lot! It's a great feeling after you pour some time into thinking you are making something cool hoping that others will agree! I really appreciate you always enjoying the lesser known characters along with the more "famous" ones lol! =) |

Man, you're killing it every single time!! Considering you've almost hit the 300 figure mark (that's a tone of figs) your creativity (introducing various characters w/ bios) and resourcefulness (combining BFS parts plus Spartan118 heads) never ceases to amaze!
Subconsciously, I'm always drawn to your Japanese films/books/anime characters first not just for their uniqueness but also out of fascination in seeing what parts you used to accomplish their design. Yuki-Onna is an incredible build, probably my favorite so far, with a simple but elegant look! Huge fan of the wired cape and the parts used, beautiful execution. 2004 Joecon Zarana made by SB and it's a touchdown!!! I need one desperately lol. Being a huge Dreadnok fan and owning a limited MGR based 'Noks this makes me want to have a go at it today!! If only the parts were available though...truly amazing and a recipe I'm going to use down the road. Then again you managed to crush the odds with Bonecrusher who looks spectacular! Pretty wicked job on that head and the added multiple grenades and jacket finish it off nicely. One of the best Lt. Slate I've seen! BFS parts are subtle but effective here. Ingenious decision to introduce the bionic arm that way. Then finally the Insurgent Trooper from the 2021 Con Circuit that also got me excited at the time and still does as I'm in the process of landing 5 of those bodies to form my own futuristic/cyber team. Keep them coming bro. Look forward to seeing more Neo-Noks!! |

So cool. Zarana is my favorite. Did you special order the head without the lines? I have tried contacting them to no avail. I need that head but without the lines in the face.
Yuki-Onna is so cool too. Where in the world do you find those Harry Potter heads? This is another one I would love to have a version of. Great work buddy!

Keep them coming bro. Look forward to seeing more Neo-Noks!! Yuki-Onna was a very fun build, as it was the first time using a wired cape (as she actually predates Vampire Girl) ...& as with all of the Japanese Anit-Heroine figures, she went through a couple drafts before I was satisfied with her. In some ways she is the most well-known of the J-anti-heroine characters in that hers is the longest running, (due to the folklore), & she has had so many iterations in media... & yet this is an amalgam of many ideas for the character, rather than being just based on 1 version. Thank you for liking her! The big thing with recreating that version of Zarana (besides the head), is those gray camo legs availability, they have not been on the MGR site in forever, & I used a pair that I had bought all the way back in 2017! I hope you do recreate her though, hopefully the gray camo Valks come back in stock soon with the restocks they have been promising, it's been a very long time... & since they updated the male gray camo I would guess the female must also be in the works. If not... I'm sure the all gray body lower torso would look good too! I think Bonecrusher looks even better in person... Spartan really did a phenomenal job on that head, it's one of the best I have received! Yes! I like Lt. Slate a lot too... which is why he was my 2022 lead it character, he bounced around in my head for like...forever lol. Happy I finally figured out a recipe I loved! Looking forward to your red cyber-team! As soon as the MGR 2020 heads drop on their site, I will be able to finish my 3 remaining Neo-Noks! Quote:

The Cho Chang heads I get from ebay, I bought a bunch at once. That figure was not available in the USA (I believe) but it is sold cheap on Ebay outta China. I buy the whole figure (as that's how it sold) with no accessories. It fits good on the Valk T-Shirt body ONLY (you would have to work it with a regular Valk), & it does not match any of the available skin tones for Valks (although it is close to the Asian skin-tone they use on the males - so I'm guessing the Valks will eventually get this treatment too.) You will need 1 of Zap's connectors for any Boss Fight bodies. For those figures, the skin tones on the Hannah/Alice figure is a close match! Last edited by Steel Brigade; 01-18-2022 at 05:39 PM.. |

Another great batch. Slate looks really sharp, and I dig the vibe of the ghost lady.
