#271. DEAD EYE (FLASHBACK VERSION) (based on GI Joe Snake Eyes - Sunbow M.A.S.S. Device mini-series)

Inspired by the Super7 Ultimate version & pushed by the great rendition done by the mighty Mr Hebime, (from which I borrowed using the WWII shoes from directly, ;-) ), making this version of Snake Eyes was a must. I think the M.A.S.S. Device is Sunbow Joe (& Sunbow Snake Eyes) at it's best. I tried to copy the animation model as closely as I could within MTF, & added some finishing touches like the Sunbow-colored laser rifle. This ended up being a fun build with some pretty good oldskool cartoon accuracy!

KANAGAWA reflects on his retired master DEAD EYE and how he inspired him down the right path. Many stories have been told about his legend over the years. Some remember him best as an American hero mute ninja master, others as a brave commando that risked his life for his Team after becoming radioactive in the arctic. But all will agree that there will never be another one like him. Shown imagery of DEAD EYE'S early attire, KANAGAWA modeled his current costume aboard the Mobile Command Center after his master's to mimic the beginning of his journey and eventual rise to greatness.

Don't get me wrong, I like Flint best in black too, but it always baffled me that in the Modern Era, they released numerous versions of Flint (including a version in a "Cartoon inspired 5-Pack") & would never color him in the Sunbow green! Because of this, I have been aiming to make a Flint in that Sunbow coloration for years. I wanted him to be the first version in my thread, but MTF finally just released their dress shirt option in green... which I have been waiting for it's debut, as I like more screen-style accuracy... so 272 figures later... here we finally are! This was a fun mix of parts from all over the MTF store page (Contract, Agency, WWII...) for my homage to that Sunbow cartoon hero... Flint!

When VINDICATOR returned from Operation Black Out in Japan with the rest of the Shinobi 7, he was happy to be out of his ninja disguise & get back into a leading officer role. Usually a field commander, VINDICATOR often acts as 2nd in command to COLONEL GRIT, & has lead the current MTF to many victories. In the past, he was an integral part to the Super Trooper program & was offered a high ranking job in strategy within the United Nations, but turned it down so he could stay on the field. Tough as nails, highly respected, & determined to bring down WRATH, VINDICATOR takes on all challenges with a no-nonsense gusto!

#273/X69. TREADMARK (based on GI Joe ARAH Skidmark)

Skidmark was low priority on my "build" list... I had a pic of him long saved in my MTF "Custom Ideas" folder, but was never all that compelled to make him. Then after a Facebook mention & 'Tank member Hit & Run both had commented my Pilot Sgt. Savage build reminded them of Skidmark, he got moved up the list as a challenge to recreate him in MTF form (& yet still make him stand out on his own against the somewhat similar Pilot Sgt. Savage build!) Never had the original figure growing up, but his pants in most photos look like an off-light-green... I went with the khaki colored pants as I have seen other customizes do on their remakes of him in the past, as it just looks better to me & is still close. *Special thanks to CapBritain for the "Treadmark" re-codename suggestion!

TREADMARK grew up rich, spoiled, & was the kind of kid your parents wanted you to be more like. Smart, clean, & always knew what to say. Some of it was his background, some of it his OCD, but when he was old enough to drive & his folks afforded him a few new sports cars, he became a demon behind the wheel! He was attending an Ivy League school when the Armageddon War started, & found himself with out a home, an education, or much hope, so he enlisted when the Marauder Task Force was looking for "New Recruits" & passed their "Vehicle Driver" test with flying colors. As one of the youngest & greenest members of the MTF, he is not well liked, & seen as a formerly "privileged golden boy"... so he spends most of his time patrolling in the outer rim & wastelands with FLY WHEELS keeping lookout for any outside enemy advances!

#274/X70. WAR MASTER (based on GI Joe Star Brigade Destro)
M.A.R.S./Wrath

It only took me 270+ figures to finally make a Destro lol! Not that it was me not wanting to make one, on the contrary, I've had Destro in my sights since very early on in this thread. But was hoping the MGR "Brynner" head was going to come in silver on the site, (I even suggested it on social media), but it has never come to pass, (might be a gang-mold thing lol.) In any event, I do not like to use "official GI Joe" heads on my creations (personal preference), & wasn't seeing any befitting custom offerings at the time, so I was pleasantly surprised when the Vitruvian Armory had exactly what I was looking for! To keep with my Future War theme, I decided to make a Star Brigade inspired Destro with the MGR Exo-Suit & tried to get the build, colors, & load out to homage the original! So while it took a long time for Destro to make his "My MTF Universe" premiere... I ended up being very pleased with his debut!

M.A.R.S Industries, a weapons developer & supplier for over a century based in Scotland, has survived the ages by profiting from the enemies of peace, with providing them with their state of the art munitions. During the Future War, M.A.R.S. wanted the new secret exo-technology developed by the United Nations Advanced ROBO-tics Labs in Japan & the USA to give them another lead in the ever-growing outcry for aggressive survival in our dying world. A born leader known as the WAR MASTER, a brash masked man from a long blood linage of M.A.R.S history, had his military faction raid the USA ROBO-tics Lab to steal plans, technology, & equipment, while fatally wounding the Science Director GREG D SCOTT. Since then, WAR MASTER has constructed his own hybrid exo-suit, upgraded with advanced weapons capabilities, & strength, while aligning his robot army, the Cyber-Ops Brigade, with the ever growing upstarts of WRATH. **Plays with your Marauder Task Force Figures!

Just in time for Halloween! Zombie Hunter Rika, you've probably never heard of it, but it's been released a couple times in the USA (solo & as part of the Nihombie: Zombie Trilogy Collection from Switchblade Pictures)... It's one of those Zombie exploitation movies from Japan that you know... Steel Brigade has in his massive collection lol.

One day while revisiting the film & thinking about more Japanese heroines to build, it dawned on me that I could make an MTF Rika, by using a multitude of parts in a creative way...

So, what you need to know about Rika is...that she is a Japanese schoolgirl, who decided to skip school with her friend to go to the countryside to visit her grandfather, & along the way, the Zombie apocalypse has started... Rika gets bit, & her Doctor Grandfather decides to amputate her infected arm, & replace it with an arm from a dead foreign man (a muscley fellow who looks like a cross between a barbarian & a male version of Onechanbara), who happens to be a known as a legendary Zombie killer... thus giving Rika a new skill to survive, by becoming a Zombie Hunter!

In the history of this entire thread, I have never futzed with a custom as much as I did this one lol, almost doing a complete makeover for screen accuracy. I previewed my first run on her with a buddy & explained my parts choices to him, when he then remarked "why don't you make her more screen accurate than cool" lol... After some thought, (& although all of "My MTF Universe" are my own *not slavish but hopefully faithful tributes* of the character) ...I agreed with him. =)

Although not completely color accurate due to the parts available, (like a blue plaid skirt vs red) this is a much more screen & color accurate version than my original build... for example things like the white shirt & jaundiced yellow male arm. She is made up of MTF, Boss Fight, Chicken Fried Toys (collar), plus a Harry Potter import Cho Chang head! My buddy said you must love that movie to start her all over again, & I told him the craziest builds are my favorites! It's what keeps me inspired! =)

*In the Japanese Anti/Heroines series I will try to keep some basic movie plot points the characters are inspired by, while still incorporating them to fit within my Marauder Task Force Universe story line! ;-)

**Japan is one of the main settings for the Future War. As YUREI KAGE & YAKU search for clues to what sunk & destroyed their homeland, their quest sees them encountering infected zombies, rogue ninja, the supernatural, scientific abominations, mutated school girls, & evil yakuza warlords!

RIKA was a victim of circumstance when Japan finally had sunk mostly underwater, & the country ran mad with planted infected refugees from a rival Asian nation hoping to wipe out the island's remaining populous! RIKA was bit on the arm by one of the infected while making her way to her Grandfather's science research center, Hilko Labs, in hopes of some help... Unbeknownst to her & the rest of the world, Hilko Labs had long run nefarious experiments, & was now being used to defend Japan's new upstart leaders, by creating a hybrid army under the control of it's rogue scientists... who are choosing to use experimental mutations with blood transfusions, viral injections, animal enhancements, & limb replacements! Finding that their deadly concoctions work best with young female subjects, most of whom have been abducted against their own free will!

Mad with power & both wanting to save his granddaughter & conduct another test on limb rejuvenation, RIKA'S grandfather removed her infected arm, & replaced it with a legendary samurai's! The arm was taken from a long ago body grave robbing & was placed within the Hilko facilities diabolical possession! Now RIKA's new arm acts on it's own with a blood-lust, causing her to armor herself as she is mostly their to keep the dreadful arm moving forward in it's own rampage against the infected!
