#261. RAMPAGE (WILD STRIKE PILOT VERSION) (based on GI Joe "Sgt. Savage" ver. 3/Fighter Pilot)

*All of this batch are figures that have been long running in my head for the MTF treatment lol.*

My 3rd version of Sgt. Savage pays homage to his official 3rd version ...the Fighter Pilot. I went back and forth on a build for him for sometime, as I wanted to use WWII parts, but a lot of the modern vests will not fit over those bodies. So I went back to the drawing board and finally found a combo that worked as a modern homage and that I am happy with! It's funny to me that I have done 3 versions of a character I don't have any particular attachment to from the past, but now have a fondness for, because he has one of the better ongoing story lines in my MTFU. ;-)

Most MTF members see RAMPAGE as a reconditioned grunt with a bad attitude who doesn't follow orders to well. But if he takes a liking to you, he is a loyal brother till the end & beyond. Such is the case of the "Missing SPARROW" aka VINDICATOR'S wife who had disappeared during a weapons trafficking deal gone wrong off the coast of Brazil. Investigations could not find a body so the Military had declared her MIA. But after years of searching & no further evidence found, most have concluded that she was captured and murdered at sea with the body being dumped. But RAMPAGE, a close friend of both SPARROW & VINDICATOR has been using his MTF missions to also investigate her disappearance, and finally thinks he has a solid lead that she is a prisoner on the mysterious Grendel Island being held by MISTRESS EVE. RAMPAGE contacted VINDICATOR, & due to his outstanding past record got him back from semi-retirement as field commander on MISSION: WILD STRIKE. As commander, VINDICATOR assigned RAMPAGE as his flight pilot & 2nd in command for the first wave attack on Grendel Island. Being one of the few "in-service" MTF Members that has actually visited the island in the past, RAMPAGE knows right where to go, despite it's mysterious coordinates. VINDICATOR'S Wild Strike MTF Team left as soon as the order was given, & the roster of "last hope" includes such members as BRAWN, BRIDGE HEAD, CALAMITY JANE, and SABER TOOTH.

#262. KANAGAWA (based on GI Joe ROC "Kamakura")

Season 6

Kamakura has been on my MTF radar since before season 6 started as one of my main ROC inspired characters for the story roster. For quite a while I wanted to build him as one of the earlier incarnations of Kamakura, but couldn't quite get the look of those figures in MTF as much as I wanted, so I kept pushing him back. Then I decided he also needed to be in my new Shinobi Squad series from season 8, as one of the new members, which caused me to have to rethink him now for 2 versions lol. I got the new Con circuit "Blue Camo/Chimera Ops Mark II" figure as a surprise freebie in one of my MGR orders right before Joefest started & was asked to keep it a secret until after the weekend. I have to admit that freebie is a "hall of famer" for me as far as the MGR Crew goes on kindness! =) Super stoked to use the body, I revisited the idea of recreating Kamakura with his ROC look (rather than one of his earlier versions) for my ROC themed season, & special thanks to the MTF crew for pushing that inspiration! I bought a Modern Era "Tekagi" for him off of ebay because I felt it was essential to this version of the character.

KANAGAWA is an apprentice of DEAD EYE and took roster as the MTF'S lead martial artist after DEAD EYE went into semi retirement. Although his father once worked for the GUNRUNNERS, DEAD EYE saw KANAGAWA'S drive when the two accidentally met in a scuffle after KANAGAWA wanted to right the wrongs that his father had made, & was acting as a vigilante against the GUNRUNNERS. Wanting to hone his skill & ambitions, DEAD EYE took KANAGAWA on & made him a student, & trained him in various martial arts until he was accepted into the Arashikage clan as an honorable gaijin. While studying in Japan, out of respect, he took the code name KANAGAWA from the prefecture he enjoyed most & would spend almost all of his free time. As his now military career progressed, & his actions lead to cases of extreme valor, he became part of SGT. SLATE'S "Elite 5," a team that also includes MGR members SPIRAL & PIPELINE. The Elite 5 are SLATE'S "go to" squad that he takes on every special mission to make sure he has a 100% success rate. Now as part of the Mobile Command Center's maiden voyage, KANAGAWA awaits his orders from SLATE, to serve & defend against the GUNRUNNER invaders... hoping to sabotage the MTF'S mission!
