This time I built a really peaceful diorama. For a long time I wanted to use my tail fin die-cast models in a diorama.
Initially I wanted to build a diorama depicting the time of tail fin cars but I do not have enough figures fitting to an urban environment of the 1950s and early 1960s. Therefore I created a diorama showing a meeting of fans of tail fin cars in the present. The diorama is 5 meters wide, between 70cm and 85cm deep and 70cm high. It includes roughly 80 figures and the following car models, except for the Batmobile all die-cast models from left to right: Mercedes 300 SE 1962 Batmobile - Version Lincoln Futura 1966 Ford Thunderbird 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 1956 Ford Ranchero 1957 Chevrolet Impala 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air (Fire Chief) 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Coupé 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz 1959 Chevrolet Nomad 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville Coupé 1958 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria 1955 The camping trailer on the bridge is a plastic toy from the manufacturer Dickie. The animals are mainly Schleich models. Besides, most of the children figurines are Schleich models. Three of the houses are of the series Sylvanians, one is a Scooby Doo haunted house and the police station is from Chap Mei. I built the covered bridge and the newspaper kiosk with wood many years ago. The mountains are made used packing materials of styrofoam. |

Why did snake Drake go to the police station if he is wanted with a reward for his capture?
You should hide snake Drake in the diorama like a where's Waldo and challenge people to find him. |

That part is just a little joke. The police officers are admiring the cars so much that they do not pay attention to anything else. My dioramas normally have some parts that are not very serious.

Like the lady that works at the magazine stand. She has a mess and is not keeping up on organizing the magazines. I bet the owner only keeps her around because she has big boobs.

Really cool how you combine dio- and playsets from different lines to create your city! I see sylvanian family dollhouses and mighty world sets... nice!

I really dig your idea. Almost like where cartoons go for some down time. I saw some from Scooby and the gang and Batman too. Now on the joe side it looked like a few where their. I really loved it all. Small town life and crime. Maybe a joe vacation spot like Springfield.

Thanks for your comment. I always use everthing that fits and do not stick to a single toy line. Most of the buildings - the ones I do not build myself - I buy in a local flea market. For each of the Sylvanians' houses I paid about US$ 10-15. I also make a lot of things myself because in Brazil it is difficult to get accessories and the few available are expensive. Therefore if you look at my other dioramas you also will find a lot of things mixed and improvised. The big advantage is that this hobby keeps up my creativity.

I added a make shift barrack as coordination center, some other traffic signs, festoons and a public phone cell. Besides, the population grew to almost one hundred and some motor bikes were added. A complete set of 75 pictures is available on my blog Dioramas 1:18
