Notes from Col. Lance "Clutch" Steinberg's file on CWO4 Craig "Rock and Roll" McConnell:
When Hawk and Falcon approached me about who would should approach about re-forming the joe team, our first thought was Rock and Roll. He had recently retired as an SF chief warrant officer. He and Falcon kept in touch over the years and RnR has been involved in many contingency operations around the world. Even as an A Team leader, RnR carried his beloved M-60, he said as a leader, he was obligated to shoulder the heavy load. When we caught up with him, he was retired from the Army, living in the High Sierras with his wife. His son was attending West Point and Craig was spending his time working out, skiing, snowboarding, and shooting. He was training with his buddy Snow Job for masters biathlons. He has been a dependable field commander since coming back, and is well respected by all. We managed to get his wife and son after the collapse and he remains very focused on leading troops and rebuilding where we can. Name: McConnell, Craig Rank: CWO4 MOS: Infantry (Special Forces) Additional MOS: Small Arms Armorer, PT instructor Rock and Roll was a machine gunner because as a weightlifter and bass player in a rock band, he loved loud noises and was strong enough to carry a machine gun and ammo. He was one of the original 13 GI Joe members and highly respected by all as a competent professional and a deeply compassionate individual. After the joe team, he applied for Special Forces, graduating the top of his class at the Q Course. He originally served as a weapons sergeant in A Teams all over the world, but with many deployments to South America hunting narcoterrorists and illicit arms dealers. Applied and was accepted as a SF warrant officer and has led many more operations world wide. Qualified expert: All Nato and Warsaw Pact small arms, can use and repair nearly any modern firearm. Airborne, Ranger, SF, Halo, and SF Scuba. Body is Retaliation Flint with a paint wash on the skin tones, the unpatined bottom part of the pants painted, and a wash on the pants, with some "dirt and dust" on the boots. Web gear is the awesome MGR stuff with a cast radio and MG ammo pouches, MGR Desert Eagle, and random joe knife. M-60E3 is BBi Elite Forces. The head is a cast of 25th Clutch (since the OG13 ARAH RnR and Clutch shared a head mold), cover is a cast of the RnR V2 ARAH cover. Oh, and the MGR lever shotgun. I originally had a different backpack I had cast and painted and I must have sanded the scratch made peg to fit a different figure and it would not stay in so I am borrowing one from 52nd Outback. |

Great work! I am not a fan of that particular upper torso but he looks good nonetheless.

TJF, I really like that body except for the weird towel thing around the neck. It sort of reminds me of a lot a guys will drape a green towel around their neck to keep the deuce gear (USMC slang for the equipment harness) for rubbing on the neck and to have something handy to wipe off optics and such. I figured an older RnR would probably be leaner and more wiry than huge and muscular, especially after a career of humping the bush in SF. |

Lookin' good! A nice mix of different versions, as well as some of your own vision for R&R.

Thanks guys. I was inspired by both the CV version and V2 (hence, RnR hootchie koo, it rhymes!). It took me a long time to come up with the right parts, trying different heads and bodies. I imagine this RnR leading a patrol through the jungle, M60E3 at the ready covering the point man.
