Well, I am about 99.9% finished with this project. There are a couple of things I'd like to do eventually just to pretty it up a bit more, but for all intents and purposes this is complete.
This is one of my holy grails of GIJoe customizing -- the Cobra Skycrane first made popular in GIJoe Yearbook 2 (which also introduced the Oktober Guards two awesome vehicles). Here is the link to my work in progress thread: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...sky-crane.html I posted quite a bit of reference pics in the above thread. This was made from a Chap Mei Dino Copter that I got off ebay at a fairly decent price. I made the engine cover using a plastic Nestle' Quick Mix cylinder/box with some Silly Putty egg halves for the top. The "shark teeth" are painted on, and the stickers are a combo of Cobra Stickers Cobra Skycrane custom set and other misc. stickers. I added the clear plastic from a 3-pk window box, and the chin gun is a custom made from The Corps! assault raft and a SW POTF2 IG-88 action figure. I painted a Cobra emblem on the back of the cargo pod. I also glued pieces I cut from an old SW POTF2 AT-AT "back" to look like sliding doors. I painted the inside of the cockpit, and added the console from the Eaglehawk. I utilized these Shock/Ninja Troopers as my pilots. I like the outfits, but I prefer the original blue Troops for my Cobra infantrymen. So, these guys got a change in MOS to pilots! When I sprayed some matte clear coat to kind of seal the sticker on that funky seam, it caused this crackle look on the paint. Not even gonna mess with trying to smooth it out. You can use the Skycrane to transport your HISS tank, if you remove the turret. Chin gun does swivel slightly and move up and down. My attempt at making a comic book looking diorama of the iconic picture from YB2. I used the Artistic>Cut Out filter blended with Artistis>Poster Edge. Any comments, critiques, or questions are greatly appreciated!! Jason |

Thanks! The background is actually from the comic, but the vehicles are all actual toys. I took individual pictures at similar angles used in the comic. Then with each picture, I duplicated the layers, filtered the background layer with Artistic>Cutout, and filtered the foreground layer with Artistic>Poster Edge, then adjusted the opacity to allow the two layers to bleed/blend together closer to a comic book image.
I'd love to do a photonovel/dio-story like this. Jason |

This is awesome, I have this Dino Copter in my loft waiting for me to do this, I need to get on it. Great idea of using AT-AT walls for the cargo pod.
