Adventure People
Air Rescue Copter The Adventure People line was launched by Fisher Price in 1975. The sturdy sets allowed older kids to act out various action and adventure scenarios with the 4’’ figures and vehicles. I had a few sets as a kid (still have my Safari Truck packed away somewhere). Since I built a homage to the Safari Expedition in 2015, I figured I would keep the theme going with another one of my childhood favorites – the Air-Sea Rescue Copter. I used the PTE Little Bird as a base. This allowed me to fit two pilots and there is a small area in the back to fit a stretcher. It replaces the original’s life raft, so my version is the Air-Land Rescue Copter. I stayed as true as possible to the original colors. For the pilots, I tried to keep the ‘’simple’’ look and feel of the original figures. To do this, I used 25th parts. These have slightly less sculpted detail than the more modern bank. At the same time, 25th parts have a decent range of motion. The paint colors mimic the original figures as well. All: PTE Little Bird with weapons removed Air Rescue Pilot Jess Head: DG Duke Helmet: 25th Pilot Scarlett Torso: 25th Viper Arms, hands: 25th Spirit Upper legs: Resolute Cobra Trooper Lower legs: 25th Ripcord Lower legs: 25th Ripcord Air Rescue Pilot Roger Head: RoC Ripcord Helmet: 25th Pilot Scarlett Torso: 25th Viper Arms, hands: 25th Spirit Upper legs: Resolute Cobra Trooper Lower legs: 25th Ripcord Safari Adventurer – Jim The Adventure People line was launched by Fisher Price in 1975. The sturdy sets allowed older kids to act out various action and adventure scenarios with the 4’’ figures and vehicles. I had a few sets as a kid (still have my Safari Truck packed away somewhere). Since I built a homage to the Safari Expedition in 2015, I thought it would be fun to go back and make the proper figures for the set. I started with Jim, the dad, or the leader of the expedition depending on how you look at it. He was a pretty straight forward build. I used similar parts to my other Adventure People figures that I have made so far. The Spirit hands homage the strange sculpted hands of the originals. Head: 25th Steeler Hat: VvV Wild Bill Torso, arms: 25th Spirit Upper legs: Ret Colton (2x right thigh) Lower legs: Ret Colton (2x right shin) Feet: Ret Colton Safari Adventurer – Jody After making Jim – the expedition leader – I looked at making Mom. However, after making April O’neil and Canary Ann custos in the past few months, I figured I had enough figures clad all in yellow. Instead, I decided to make Jody from the Safari Expidition set. Head: DTC Lady Jaye Torso, arms: 25th Lady Jaye Legs: RoC Breaker

Oreo, these look freaking fantastic! You've got real talent. I have started collecting Adventure People recently. I had a few of the sets when I was very little. They were ahead of their time in many aspects.

Words can't describe the awesomeness of these, OB. Spot-on modern updates of one of the best toylines ever. I loved AP, and would buy these in a heartbeat if they were mass produced. Do you plan on doing more?

Wow!!! Again, another great custom from OB. How the hell do you paint across the joints (especially knees and shoulders)?!!! That is seamless work!!! If you feel like sharing, PM me. Thanks.
