20 years ago America's elite fighting force, codename GI JOE, was defeated, not by a foreign enemy, but instead by the very government that swore to protect. America's leaders decided to rapidly downsize the military in an attempt to portray the country in a lighter fashion. They resorted to trying to solve issues in boardroom, not a warzone, even negotiating with terrorists so as not to hurt feelings, allowing the known terrorist group COBRA to form their own recognized entity known as Cobra-La. The government contributed to the rapid wussification of America, something that would eventually cost them dearly. America became viewed as weak, and COBRA took advantage of that, raiding America's shores, taking several key leaders into custody, agreeing to return them to safety upon the release of their own currently imprisoned officers. Though, a new president had taken oath, one who was tired of the perception of weakness, one who wanted his country back, one who took office under the condition he got quarter of his salary, one who took the adage to heart that America does not negotiate with terrorists. Under this belief he secretly met with military leaders in an attempt to rebuild a JOE squad, called on Major General Ralph "Steeler" Pulaski to act as their liaison. A new JOE team was formed without anyones knowledge. A small strike force to infiltrate and free the prisoners from COBRA's clutches, to prove America was back, these are those selected.
Okay so it needs some ironing out, but that's a rough backstory and I'll update the characters as completed. I decided to skew towards real world military (partially due to my own experience as a US Infantryman), not the technicolor JOE team. Brady Evans, aka "Grunt," field leader Jamie Brewer, aka "Boomer," explosive specialist Seth Gentry, aka "Wind Storm," ninja commando Last edited by Jarred706; 10-23-2015 at 06:24 PM.. |

Nice work... couple of suggestions/questions:
1. I think you mean "Major General" instead of "Master General". 2. Why do you reuse the name "Grunt"? Why not come up with a new name for a new character?

I did mean Major, thanks for the catch. I was in betwixt screaming baby while typing.
The reason I used Grunt is because I was an Infantryman for years and took pride in the term Grunt, and it was also used as a means to relate to the original figures, and Sergeant Brady up there decided to pay honor to where he came from. Plus, it seemed appropriate. |
