That's correct, the hair was repositioned. I removed the hair so I could perform the face lift. Not that Mara Jade was ugly, in fact, she's probably one of the better Hasbro female heads out there, she just wasn't up to my standards. So I trimmed and sanded down the cheeks and jawline, notice how much slimmer her face looks, then repainted the entire face. I didn't have a paint color that matched her hair color so I gave her black eye brows. I think that brought out her eyes more.
Thanks all, for the kind words.

The eyebrows are how you tell, if they are ...natural hair colored or if they dye. The eyebrows WOLL match the carpet.

How did you combine the torso to the bottom of Helix?

I used krazy glue after cutting both figures in half. But was that a serious question bc I sort of thought it was obvious.

I have several Helixs and 2-3 Jades and would like to try this, but don't want to destroy a Jade if I don't do it correctly. Did you cut on any particular seem or just eye it? Last edited by Jay West; 04-27-2015 at 09:18 PM.. |

I wonder how Renegades Scarlett's arms would look like with that Mara Jade torso; of course with the arms painted in a flesh tone color?

Yes serious, but I was looking for a bit more info. What kind of tool did you use to cut the figures. Did the torso fit easily into the waist without alteration. It looks pretty seamless so I was wondering how easy matching up the halves and gluing was?

I cut both figures at the belt line. The good thing about that is, it doesn't have to fit together perfectly bc once you glue them together, use Helix's belt to cover up the cut, suddenly, it looks factory. Hope that helps, feel free to ask any other questions about customizing. I like to spread the knowledge. We need more customizers sharing their styles and points of view. But why would you when you already have Mara's arms? IMO, Renegades Scarlett's arms look terrible in flesh tone, they're too long and they have folds. I've seen it before and well, it just looked like alien arms with loose skin. You'd have to shape them before the flesh tone otherwise, the folds look terrible.

LOL, ok, sorry. Mara Jade is made of a soft plastic, all you need a an X-acto. Joe torsos are made of a harder plastic so I used my Dremel with circle saw. If you don't have a Dremel, I highly recommend getting one. They're cheap.
