Wow, thanks everyone! I did get a photobucket account and will try to use the link option again. The first time I tried it, it didn't work, but I probably used the wrong link.
I've tried this, but it some reason when I paste the img URL, in the link upload space and hit upload, I keep getting a "invalid file" error message. Not sure what's going on with this, but I'm sure I'm using the edit option correctly and using the right URL from photobucket. /:-\ |

You have to click on the library tab. This will bring up a whole wall of pictures. Do not open the picture you want. Just hover over the top right corner of the picture you want to show and there is a little gear symbol that will open a drop down. In that drop down top link is share. Click share and it will open up a window of different html links. You want the image link at the bottom of the list. Right click on it and it will flash to say copied. then just paste that link here like this

Okay I got it. Okay, I have never posted on any forum before, so this was a learning experience in more ways than one. Heh-heh-heh. So in making this custom tank, I simply used a hot knife to cut the tough plastic of the hood in half and to cut off the back gun panel. I then sanded down the back of the main tank body and the good door edge to smooth it out before painting. As you all can see with the back engine fuselage, I painted that black and used the base tread axel coil cables as dressing for the back, which worked better than I thought it would. I attached that back portion and the main body of the tank to the base tread with Lock-Tite superglue. After applying the CobraStickers Triple T repros, I sprayed several layers of flat finish protector spray to keep those stickers from coming off. As I said before, I got inspiration from a couple of Triple T customs here on this forum, but I wanted to add E-7 sergeant chevrons to it and give the stickers and paint a more permanent and durable finish. |

You know what? This was a surprising labor of love. It had it's frustrations, but that's because I spent some needless time trying to figure out just how to go about this. But now I know how to do it, so the idea of doing it again isn't so daunting. I mostly took my time with it to get it right, and now I'm so pleased with it and am very happy everyone's been so helpful and supportive.
It took me a few months to do this only because of my time schedule with work and waiting for the components; but it's possible that the time would be cut in half because I would know what to do now. So if you're willing to buy the materials to send me, I think I could get it done in a month and a half to two month range. Message me back, and I'll let you know what's required, and how soon I can get started. I'm taking a small break for now. |
