I just take a small flat head screwdriver and twist. However, I only crack open torsos if I am using it for a custom where there is going to be a vest or something going over the body to keep it together as the glue just won't be as good as the factory one and you will lose some of the internal alignment pegs too.

I really like the Storm Shadow.
On cracking torsos, I use a mallet and towel. Works for me, though I've problems with a 25th Storm Shadow and a wave 1 Retaliation Roadblock. The latter put me off splitting Retaliation torsos due to the soft plastic. |

I like rocker ankles on my figures. I like the extra possess one can give the figure for display. I think both of these customs really work. About cracking torsos, for the longest time I suffered with how to crack them open, even sliced my fingers open a few times. The vice and grip pliers method did not work for me either.
The easiest method, at least for me is using a wooden block, a small flat head screwdriver and a small mallet. How about you guys? Any good methods? The older the figure the easier they come apart too! I've had some 25th figures literally fall apart taking them out of the water, lol

I think your heart is in the right place, but in addition to the blue on CC's legs not quite matching, those legs are a tad too skinny for the torso, unfortunately. But hey, if you like it who cares what some dude on a message board thinks? Honestly, what I'm saying amounts to nit-picking. It isn't really noticeable unless you're looking for it.
And hey, I think I'm the only guy posting here who actually likes rocker ankles. I do really like how the 25th SS torso looks, however. Did you crack the torso open and transfer the arms over from the Ultimate SS? I always loved that little knife sheath he had in his belt. Great work.

I have two approaches to torso cracking. If I'm going for the arms and don't care about the torso itself, I pry it open with a screwdriver. If I want the torso, however, I wrap that sucker in two socks and use the good ol' vice method. Usually the arms make it through that as well, but sometimes not. I have yet to find a 100% reliable way to pop the torso and avoid any damage each and every time, but my track record's been pretty good so far.
And I like yours, good sir.

To crack a torso I just put it in a sock and use a hammer. Some have been a struggle with this method but I've had about 99% success with no damage. I'm definatley going to try soaking it next time before hammering as thats a pretty good idea. The hammer method does break off the alignment pegs but I have never had an issue with gluing one back together, they always line back up perfectly for me.
