I think the scale issue he may be referring to is that most bricks are uniform in size, and dimensions...? Brick Sizes To be correct in scale there'd be a math step involved somewhere to make the bricks 1:18 or whatever scale the diorama is going to be...? Some measuring&whatnot? I like the overall technique you used tho,and paint application...I can't say I've ever made a brick wall,so it's definitely better then the ones I've made |

I know the how to get to 1:18 scale, lol. I was just commenting on the other guy's scale comment. Hell,I may have been wrong in my assumption of what he was referring to? Idk? in not him, lol. As for the uniformity of brick size,or lack there of I still see it on older buildings or large elaborate homes,or homes that utilize recycled building materials(it's a fad,or thing nowadays...expensive too when it comes to stone work ,it's not cheap to build a townhouse from several decade old handmade bricks). I like your how too! I've never made any walls before, but am finding I want a nice environment to photograph my figures lately...it's nice to see different ways to go about creating nice scenery that showcases our figures!

Great idea thanks for posting!
Keep in mind if you want more realism that modern (last hundred years at least) structural red brick (as opposed to brick veneer) will have an alternating course. Every seventh course will run the short side of the brick facing out, these alternating courses add to the stability of the 2 layers of brick that make up the wall. Always something to look for when house hunting.

Thank you so much for this man. I might give it a try as well, non digital backgrounds are outside my comfort zone as an artist but I have to branch out and try new things.
Keep rocking ! |
