One example is the British Warrior FV513 Mechanised Recovery Vehicle these units are deployed as part of REME Light Aid Divisions which accompany armored battalions on the front lines. Another example would be the US Quick Reaction Force units which often have recovery teams and vehicles as well.

Not a military man but that does not change the fact that there are recovery vehicles on the front line.

Some bros prefer the more realistic military side of Joe and I can see how the more fantastic vehicles would not work for them. Other folks (myself included) prefer the more sci fi and sometimes quirky side of Joe where something like this would be perfectly acceptable and normal even I can see this vehicle in a Joe episode doing its job and the driver complaining the whole time while doing it under enemy fire. Just another reason to celebrate the awesome cultural phenomena that is G.I. Joe. Blood... I missed your work man, it always has that personal touch of imagination and flair, coupled with simplicity, you are a walking example of less is more brother. Keep rocking!
