What a pain in the ass this guy was to beat! I don't know if it was just me, but I though he was harder than any other boss and he was only midway through the game. Anyway, thought I'd share this one. The only issue with him is that he's a little short because of the base figure he was built on, but it just worked. He's a bit small in scale with Joes and MU but he does fit in fine with the DC mulriverse line. Particularly proud of the dry brushing paint job on his armor to make it look battle worn.
Head - jungle viper w some sculpt work. body - Retaliation wave 1 snake eyes Thigh, knee, shin armor - cut from MU iron man legs shoulder armor - ROC acceleration suit Body armor (front) - Thor fandral body armor (straps and rear) - retaliation roadblock leg holster - retaliation Joe trooper backpack Straps/pouches - various fodder Last edited by dereksmith2003; 12-03-2020 at 09:21 PM.. |

Cool man. I think you have a solid build. If you want I can write some constructive feed back for you later today if you are interested. What kind of paints are you using? Is your figure suffering from paint rub? Just curious

Phantro, yes please! Criticism and advice are always welcome. I use the cheap apple barrel acrylic paints from Walmart for just that reason...they're cheap. I use acrylic sealer also. I do my best to trim joints to avoid paint rub.

Nice. This guy just got solicited at e-tailers a few week ago. Mattel has been stepping up their 4 inch game. I am eager to see Arkham Deathstroke turns out.

Sounds good dude. Depending on your budget, try and switch to Model Master paint, they don't chip off, they are not incredibly pricey ( I mean depending on how much you buy) they have a solid selection and it does not require much paint so you don't have to add thick layers of paint. Really a good brand, of course some experts will give you advice on other paints but I'm thinking for a reasonable budget you get some solid product. Check it out and let me know what you think of them.
Oh and after the paint dries if you expose them to cold temperature they become practically bullet proof. The other advice I can give you is try and use a solid background with good lighting for your pictures. Even if you are using the camera on your cell phone, it brings out the details of your custom. Hope that helps man I have a feeling you might like the results. Keep rocking Last edited by phantro; 10-27-2014 at 11:56 PM.. |

Looks badass! Great custom work here. I particularly like the colors you used: they very closely match the Arkham Origins palette. I wish you had rotated the photos before uploading--It's rather annoying to have to cock my head sideways to see it properly.

I concur. Testor's Model Masters are the best paints for figure painting that I've used so far. (I must admit though, I have not used games workshop paints yet... Too expensive IMO)
