This site is invaluable:
http://www.joecustoms.com/ Hasbro Color Chart (I'm not sure if this chart applies to the 25th figures): http://wiki.joecustoms.com/wiki/Hasbro_Color_Chart Customizing Guide: http://wiki.joecustoms.com/wiki/Customizing_Guide Oh yeah, and disassembly tips: http://www.joecustoms.com/forums/vie...hp?f=15&t=2530 The chart Xerofall (who is one hell of a customizer, did you see his HISS custom?) found is a helpful tool also. i have been wanting to ask a question similar to this. do vechicles need to lightly sanded and primed to prepare the surface for paint. when should one spray a vehicle rather than brush on paint. i have looked over these sites a lot, and i just haven't got a clear answer. they recommend water based paints, but do they make a spray in a water base? as a scuptor, i don't have a problem converting the vehicle, it's the proper steps in painting that trips me up. please help me!!!!

I haven't customized any Joe sized vehicles, however when painting smaller plasctic models I would always clean the part, prime, and paint. Use spray paint for large areas and brushes for smaller areas and details. Primer helps the paint stick better and last longer. Spray paint will give you a more clean, even look and brushes can be used for more realistic and weathered effects.
Xerofall or other members might have a better answer as they are a lot more experienced at painting vehicles for use better than me. Here's a link to Carnage717's guide: http://wiki.joecustoms.com/wiki/Tige...ainting_How-To |
