I love that story. I was reading it the other day and wondering how many people have missed out on it since it's not in the collected editions or stuff like the yearbook. My copy was in the little mini-book that had the first three issues, and it's hard as hell to read the tiny, old print in that.

Even 30+ years later, Hama's early stuff holds up- and holds up well. Issues 1-30 were truly golden and groundbreaking material; then still pretty solid up through about issue 50; then the bottom kinda fell out fast. |
