Master Gunnery Sergeant LaFitte... Gung Ho, reporting as ordered!
It's great to back to customizing! I think I had about an almost 2 year hiatus due to training, deployment, getting pcs orders and moving to FL! Anyhow, down to business! This figure is one of Aloysha's from Broken Arrow toys. It's fairly accurate minus a few small details I changed to reflect actual Marine Corps standards. In all it was a great cast and awesome base to build upon if you want to go for accuracy, or you can paint as is for a more cartoon/ARAH version. I painted the figure using tamiya and citadel paints and sculpted details and mods with aves apoxie. The upper torso was modded by cutting off the crimson guard epaulets and replaced with more accurate USMC dress blue epaulets, I smoothed out the "name tag" above the right breast pocket... Sorry, but only recruiters and MOS school instructors wear name tags and none are ever worn on the Dress Blues. I also cut off the eagle, globe and anchor on the cover as it was not detailed enough and appeared out of scale. I understand the limitations in casting and am not bashing the maker, but just making an observation. Then I sculpted a more detailed EGA scaled to the cover and chevrons and hash marks on the sleeves to add some depth...also because I didn't get any water slide decals as it was one of the first batches made. I also trimmed the cuffed trousers as they did not reflect actual Marine Corps trousers with the cuffs. All ribbons were painted to match actual USMC awards. A MGySgt would have a lot more then one, but I just chose what I tight he'd rate and slapped them on there.

Seeing this finished product is making the wait unbearable for my stuff to come in from Broken Arrow Toys. Mine will not be half this cool. Gung Ho has never looked sharper.

The sculpting is what gets me. It makes all the chevrons look embroidered. Just awesome.

Aloysha did a great job on this kit! It saved me a lot time vice sculpting everything from scratch. If your looking for a Dress Blue Gung Ho, or other Marine joes, pick up a few of these from him.
