first is destro- the biggest problems to me were the weak knees, the gloppy sculpt/ paint on his forearm missiles, and his ridiculous little baby gun holster.
the initial plan was to use some 25th lower arms and put the 50th hands on 'em, but they were too short, so no dice. for the legs i was pleasantly surprised to find a set of thor lowers fit just right. no ankle articulation, but i'll take it for the stability. the new holster is from a retaliation trooper back pack. he got some substantial paint touch ups all over as well. next is beachhead- love the poc legs, so they went on first thing. i saw someone else here use the ultimate cc belt, great idea, it really fills out the lower vest area. by far the hardest part was matching that weird green color to cover up the gold star and his sloppy ass arm patch- for some reason acetone didn't get em off as easily as it usually does. and finally flint- first thing was to fix his forearm and neck paint apps (i was fortunate to get one with a decent face, thanks LOC). a mix of white, tan, yellow, and red finally got close enough. next was removing the knife holster on the web gear so it wouldn't bump his gun, just replaced it with a random pouch, and i cut off the doohickey on his right leg. other than that it's just some paint- the straps on his legs and his web gear- i wanted to keep as much of the weird green color as possible (i think it looks sharp). |

Those legs are perfect for Destro good call! I too woukd like to get rid of terribly painted patches. Sounds like to much work to mix the paint for flint so I won't be trying that lol

FOR GLORY AND GOLD!
Nice work on the figs, sir. Besides the grenades on Destro's arm, what other painting did you do? |

thanks, guys. on destro paint wise it mostly touch ups, especially his collar, it pretty much got entirely re painted, and the silver on his torso and red on his leg straps were pretty rough, too.

Yet another awesome job, man.
Please explain how the heck you used the Ultimate CC belt. I mean, did you dremmel o ut CC's entire torso or something, 'cause that belt is part of his sculpt. If so, that's hardcore, yo. Also, another photography question...what watt bulbs do you use for lighting?

Also, another photography question...what watt bulbs do you use for lighting? and the belt isn't part of the sculpt- i can't remember if i hit it in hot water or not, but a little cut in the back with an exacto knife and it peeled right off. i added (glued) a little pouch in the back to make it long enough to fit around his waist. |
