lol - I have been yes, but in fairness most of what I'm posting is at least a year's worth of stuff I'm just now putting together here at Hisstank. It's more work than you'd think to even just transfer over existing posts while also find time to make more...and occassionally do things like...work...
Anyway, thanks everyone who has been checking these out, and especially for posting. Some of the bios may end up "out of order" to some extent - because I can't recall the exact order I posted them in originally, and some do feed off of others. Keep checking back in and it will hopefully all make sense!

Hello, Bruce? It’s Ollie. Say, I just got my hands on this month’s Sword in Stone… You’re not going to be pleased. That Parker kid they have writing for them, either he’s a lot sharper than I gave him credit for, or this was just a bad coincidence. I’ve talked to Col. Jameson, and he assured me that these were two different assignments, not any kind of cohesive story. Still…
----- By PFC Peter Parker, Special to Sword in Stone NEW YORK – By reputation, billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne is usually not one to be confused with the most socially conscious of men in the world. Certainly not when viewed in contrast to the renowned philanthropy of his deceased father, Dr. Thomas Wayne. And certainly not when that reputation is gleaned from a quick review of the Gotham tabloids. His reputation would typically cause an eye-roll for most casual observers of his young career, if you can call being born into one of the wealthiest families in American history a “career.” Yet, most casual observers would not appreciate that under the younger Wayne’s guidance, Wayne Enterprises reached heights never before reached, in terms of both profit, and actual hands-on success. By all accounts, the technologies developed by the mega-corp after Bruce Wayne took the reigns became some of the most reliable, useful and cost efficient cutting edge products on the global market. So maybe it’s still not shocking that a man of Wayne’s stature might have picked up some business acumen to go along with his apparent knowledge of the phone numbers for every Victoria’s Secret model, and a handful of available Hollywood A-list leading ladies to boot. Maybe it’s not shocking that a man whose entire life has been molded by the weight of a billion dollar legacy might have learned ways to protect that very existence. But what might be shocking, is that a man with this apparent reputation, the playboy with the silver spoon, the all-night parties and the open bar might lay it all on the line, his personal and business success, his personal and family legacy, and in fact his own very existence, to essentially accomplish one of the greatest social, global, and political missions in history. Meet Bruce Wayne, Executive Director of EXCAL, a beacon of light for the free world (that half of the world not under the oppression of tyranny, terror, and the rule of those who would dominate free will worldwide, if only given the chance). Yes, this perceived partying playboy has vested the entirety of Wayne Enterprises’ technology development corp. (the heart of the Wayne conglomerate’s holdings) to EXCAL, so that the fine freedom fighters, scientists, and conservators of that fine organization might gain a foothold in the battle for freedom and justice in the world. But more than simply transferring his holdings, Mr. Wayne has invested himself, as he serves as the Director of Military Operations Development, a vague title with little clarity in terms of his actual day to day dealings. Nevertheless, Wayne’s commitment to EXCAL’s mission cannot be denied, and his financial investment in the organization (along with the investments of other members of the Forbes’ 500 – Oliver Queen, Clark Savage, Jr., and if rumors hold true, Tony Stark) have helped establish the organization as a heavy hitter in anti-terror operations throughout the world. CONTINUED ON PAGE A2 SHADOW – CONTINUED FROM FRONT PAGE. In stark contrast to the omnipresent glow Bruce Wayne casts upon the entire EXCAL organization, there is a lesser known and talked about figure, typically shielded by shadow, whose actions have more directly propelled EXCAL’s special missions teams to become the most feared combatants in the world. That shadowy figure, the man actually responsible for the term “Shadow Knight” becoming an actual designation within EXCAL’s Paladin Knight Program, is none other than the Bat Man. Bat Man (or Batman, as some have written) was thought to be something of a myth or legend, in his days (nights, really) of fighting crime on the dingy streets of the Gotham that is New York City. But his presence, and his success were all too real. Earning the moniker of The Dark Knight, Bat Man’s vigilante dealings were viewed with a blind eye by the city, and for the first time in decades, New York began to reclaim itself from the criminal underworld which had been running rampant and unchecked for far too long. After several years of fighting – and winning – this battle for the city streets, and with his apparent mission nearly complete, Bat Man seemed destined to go the way of all such myths and legends, and become a distant memory. Then all hell broke loose. War, actually, but then war is hell, is it not? It was a global war to be precise. First, the free world suffered defeat in the Cobra Wars, then shortly thereafter the unified terror network now known as MEDUSA was born. With the revelations that this war was being brought to the world by something barely more than a union of criminals, the justice-seeking Dark Knight viewed there to be little choice but to join the fight for world freedom. Bat Man essentially founded EXCAL’s Paladin Knight Program, along with a fellow vigilante then known as the Green Arrow. These two men became the first ever to be “knighted” under EXCAL’s international treaties, which entitle any Paladin Knight license to operate legally, and in full capacity, across the globe. In appreciation of being so knighted, the Green Arrow dedicated his life’s mission to the program, and during the ceremony revealed his true identity as Oliver Queen to the world. Today, Queen is the director of the PKP, but Bat Man remains its star. Given the enemies created by Bat Man during his “Gotham” days, Bat Man had no choice but to maintain the secrecy of his identity, a choice that has only added to his mystique, and also quickly garnered the Shadow Knight designation. Since Bat Man’s choice was made, several other Paladin Knights have similarly chosen the masked, shadow knight designation, though most now operate in the open, given that very few have Bat Man’s jaded history, which would require such continued prudence. Bat Man continues to take his fight to the worst the world has to offer. He typically continues to operate alone, though he has been assigned various helpers, who may or may not rise to the ranks of Paladin Knight. Bat Man has personally selected and trained many of the Knights now operating within the program, so his influence is strong in both direct and indirect manners. The PKP has been formed in many ways around Bat Man’s ideals, and around his quest for justice. Queen’s presence as an investor, as well as director of the Knights might be greater on paper, but it is the Bat Man who truly leads this band of freedom-fighting brothers. However, there is no doubt that together Bat Man and Oliver Queen have combined to shape a league of justice the likes of which the world has never known. ----- I have several different variations of this character in figure form. First is just a simple civilian looking Bruce Wayne, nothing really fancy. I made what was for me an unexpected choice for the head – a clone trooper – hopefully painted to look much more like Wayne than Jango Fett! Anyway, given the number of those heads I had laying around unused, it was actually fun to be able to make multiples cheaply, and not have to reply on a head swap or go searching for other figs I might not have needed otherwise. The Bat Man figure is one base figure, but I have an unmasked head and the cowl/removable mask head for it, and I have 2 sets of armor as well. The black armor has no bat logo, and looks like it might have been scratch built by Bats, at the outset of his EXCAL career. Clearly, Bruce Wayne was concerned that he might be linked to Bat Man at some point in time, and he went to great lengths to make sure that Bat Man did not visibly wear Wayne Ent. technology (actually, he was loaded with that technology, but his outward appearance was much rougher looking than anything the company sold). Since EXCAL has now fully incorporated the weapons design capabilities of Wayne Enterprises, Bat Man may now more freely use those items, which explains the more high tech armor he now often employs. This armor also fits much more closely with the EXCAL theme, and Wayne is fond of wearing it when the Paladin Knights meet in person (Wayne’s identity is known to all full Paladin Knights). In combat, Wayne has taken to wearing the old armor for night ops, and the new armor for more open combat scenarios. He has a full array of typical Bat gear, but given the nature of this war, he is also fully armed, and is no longer bound by his preferred means of crime-fighting from his Gotham days The zip line on his belt is functional, the “batarang” seen in some of the pics is just a piece of packaging tie-downs, that I thought was too cool not to use. The shiny part of the first cape is vinyl, the cloth parts of both capes come from Dark Knight figs, and the bat symbol is a waterslide decal.

This one won an award for best female custom 2008 over at Joe Customs (tied with a custom by Doc Rob and another custom by me!). The pics show her befor and after various tweaks I've made. I purposely connected the sleeves to the top, so that I could at least say the coat is a separate piece from the sleeves. Not sure how well that part works, but I usually keep the coat on anyway. The benefit of having it off is that I gave her a couple cool tats on her back.
STEEL RAIN Liz Swan Head Darth Talon Torso 25A Lady Jay Waist and legs Cade Skywalker arms and coat Luke Skywalker (desert) goggles --------------- She was a prodigy in the truest sense. Rayana Steele was 5 when she first picked up an interest in the martial arts. By the time she was 10, she was a blackbelt in numerous disciplines, and by the time she was 12, she was a national champion in both Karate and Jujitsu. Her passion however, was for the armed techniques, and that is where her focus remained for many years, until a well publicized incident changed her life. She had not meant to carry an actual edged weapon into a scheduled sparring session with her master. Her master realized the error immediately, and it was a rare bout of foolishness which allowed his ego to silently take on the challenge of beating his star pupil while she was armed in this way. Zoned in on her technique alone, and continuing to fight as though it was simple sparring, Rayana, using mixed techniques she had developed on her own, gained the upper hand via the element of surprise. What should have been a simple blunt scoring blow to her master's chest, however, was instead a blow of steel on flesh, as her blade pierced her master's heart. Though his dying words were of forgiveness, 16 year old Rayana Steele felt a darkness pass over her own heart. Though she was not charged criminally with the death of her master, she soon found other ways to attract the attention of the law. Disillusioned, she lost her discipline and herself, and slipped into a world of crime, petty at first, more substantial later on. By the time she was 18 she had attracted the attention of the FBI, and of the many crime lords who sent lackeys out to recruit her. Most importantly, however, she attracted the attention of the Bat Man, Bruce Wayne. While working on her dossier, Wayne realized that Steele was not the usual thug on the streets of Gotham. There was an inner turmoil he could sense, not unlike his own. He knew from the accounts of her childhood friends, that her heart was strong and good, and that she simply needed to channel her anger, and regain her discipline. Wayne confronted her as the Bat Man, and upon defeating her in hand to hand combat, showed her mercy by not turning her in, but instead brought her home. Soon, he confronted her as Bruce Wayne, and the leap of faith he showed her by doing so was just the right move to pull her from her inner hell. Rayana Steele was back. Thereafter, Wayne put her through her paces, renewing, and adding to, her former training. While he never let her accompany him when he was the Bat Man, he did train her for a life of fighting for good over evil. When he had offered all he could offer, he encouraged her to expand on her training, to include all forms of weaponry, telling her that she would be best served in the world she was choosing by not following the restrictions of her chosen martial arts. At Wayne's request, she did just that. Of course, by then Wayne was already in the process of forming the organization now known as EXCAL, and his encouragement was with the direct intent of having her jump on board with the full range of skills required to assist the mission. She adopted the code name Steel Rain, and quickly made a name for herself. When the Paladin Knight program was initiated, she was the first knight to be inducted after Knighthawk. While she is second in seniority, she has not yet achieved the title of Paladin Knight Master (only one other knight has done so since Knighthawk). It is not for lack of skill, but is instead based upon her lingering bouts of anger and instability which might forever hold her back from that position.

Guess I'll keep throwing more customs out into the void:
HEARTBREAKER: The Jones family is certainly a talented one. Jardin was a top notch fighter pilot before receiving a dishonorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces for classified reasons. While his skills with his planes in the air were not debatable, neither are his half-sister Jessica's skills with the planes on the ground. Jessica Jones was born to work on engines of all makes and sizes. After her mom passed away as a child, she never left her father's side. She helped her dad rebuild the engine on his "baby" (a '57 Chevy) at the age of 9 (helped is a debatable description, as by all accounts it was her job, but for the heavy lifting), and she couldn't be taken from out of the garage in her down time thereafter. Jessica's father came from a long line of world class aviators, and just as it didn't take Jardin long to nab a seat in the cockpit of his father's planes, it didn't take Jessica long to find her way around the hangar and the engines from the Jones' fleet either. By the time she graduated high school, Jessica Jones had been trained (and where necessary, licensed) for the repair of so many varieties of jets, prop planes, and vehicle engines, that she lost count. It was clear she was a savant of sorts, and quickly rose to the top of the Jones' World Famous Aviators hangar team. Jessie, as her half-brother calls her, was 21 when the Cobra wars were ending, and MEDUSA began to show itself off as a global force, controlling nearly one third of the nations of the world, directly by force, or indirectly by treaty, alliance or pact. That was the same year that older brother Jardin received his discharge, and tragically, the same year their father, Jackson Jones, perished in a aviation "accident" for which his own negligence was blamed. Jardin, through his own sources (most notably his close friend and then Special Forces Op, Tristan Knight) learned that the crash was most likely the result of a MEDUSA attack). Shortly thereafter, once Tristan Knight became fully entrenched in the new EXCAL organization, Jardin signed on to be his personal civilian pilot (he was later signed on formally to EXCAL as well). Feeling helpless and alone, Jessica enlisted in the Air Force thinking that she should not waste her talents in time of war. Jardin was furious at his sister for taking this route, and with some help from his friend (now known as Knighthawk) Jessie's transfer to EXCAL, and to Knighthawk's team, was secured. The codename Heartbreaker works on many different levels. As a teenager, she drew attention from many boys for obvious reasons, but even the best of her suitors could not pull her away from her true love for long. She broke many hearts who could not overcome their jealousy of Jessica's true passion. Now, as an adult, she has reached a certain compromise in life, as she allows herself many short romances, but still has shown little interest in committing to any one man. Her "short romances" aka one-night stands have given her a bit of a reputation among the EXCAL "enlisted" types, though her reputation (like that of her hard partying brother) seems to bother her not. It helps explain why she dresses as she does, though in her defense, the outfit below was meant to be worn while at the off duty club in the EXCAL main base, Battle Station Gamma (nicknamed Camelot), located in a classified region. But Heartbreaker was having a bad day, and didn't even get out of the hatch of the Knighthawk's Talon before learning that repairs would be needed pronto, for an early morning mission that would require the airship's services. Thus, we see here, Jessica Jones, as she appeared during a break from her repairs.

Just had the opportunity to go through all of these. I have seen some of your work before on another site. All I can say is that these are impressive as hell, Joe or not and the back stories are really well done and really bring these customs to life. Keep it up.

The fact that you're making custom figures of original characters probably means you'll get a litle less fanfare on these than customs based on existing GI Joe characters, but for what it's worth, I think the modding work you've done with these guys is very impressive. Keep them coming!

Thanks guys.
Yeah, I know original characters don't fare as well as known ones, unless they have a very specific Joe feel. I do have some other known names still to post, but even those are usually variations of the existing character, Joe or not. Thanks again for looking and posting. I've got quite a few more existing ones I need to transfer over before I get to posting my new stuff.
