I only got to know about The Fridge figure in 2002 when I started collecting again and only after that, that he was an actual football player so I never had any great feelings for the figure besides being a cool collection piece. And that's why I donĀ“t mind using a headsculpt that isn't even remotely accurate with the source, in fact I enjoy it
In my "joeverse" this Fridge is another character altogether, I think of him as former Army Drill Sergeant who happens to be a die hard football fan, he thinks as football as chess in motion and a "peaceful" way to exercise war. The Fridge codename would be not only because he is a big guy, but because different from other drill sergeants he doesn't like tho shout, he is cool and calm while instructing hiss troops, he likes to cite Sun-Tzu and other masters of war as well as great moves on football games .... "After Sgt. Slaughter got more involved with the Marauders operation, Hawk needed a equally apt drill sergeant to keep the Joes fit and he knew the man for the job." I think The Fridge is the LEAST qulified preson to keep the Joes fit. He only got a fig because he was the most famous member of the Super Bowl Champs from that year.
