Hey Tankers,
I ended up with a spare Deep Six from the Deep Six/RnR Comic Pack, and since I found a SHARC for $10 at Wal-Mart on clearance, I decided he's my default D6. Sooo since the CP version's not good for much besides repainting, I figured I'd attempt something, but have no idea where to start, and don't want to start hacking away till I get some pointers. Has ANYONE seen someone fix Deep Six so he's not just a brick? I am looking at getting Lego Bionicle pieces (since they're cheap), or perhaps some Gundam pieces if I can find them, to make joints so that Deep Six moves at the following: Hips, knees, shoulders (out, on ball joints), perhaps feet. I'm thinking Ball socket for the shoulder and maybe hips/feet, but the knees and perhaps the hips will need ratcheting joints, I believe. It may be that I could fix the entire thing with ball joints, but I'm not sure. I figure if I can cut the legs apart, I can fill in the extra spaces with some robotic looking chunks or something. Also, how the hell do you take the SOB apart? |

If you can figure out how to integrate some revoltech joints that might work.

I haven't seen the 25th version of the ol' brick LOL
What material is used? The soft plastic -used commonly on arms and lower legs- or the hard plastic -body, upper legs- ? |

I would use one of the Corps figures, they are not small like the 25the line but that would make up for the suit size. I was looking into using the Hell Boy 2 figure (Mist Guy) forgot his name but he looks close to the Deepsix (V2) figure

I totally had an idea on doing this before we even got a 25th Anniversary Deep Six.
I was going to use an orginal ARAH Deep Six figure and and a 25th Torpedo figure just to try my custom out. The problem is that I would need to go out and purchase a Dremel tool in order to get my vision done. I also need an extra Deep Six figure to dismantle. Maybe one day I will get this all done. When that time comes I will post pics. The idea I have is for a removeable suit which also makes him articulated. Maybe I can share my idea with one of our expert customizers if they want a try at it. I'm sure that we have enough creative people around here that can create their own as well.

The arms may be softer, but he's pretty solid... and brick-like. |

Ok, i've seen it on YoJoe.
I think that a good start could be one of the Iron man movie figures, specifically the figure of the beginning of the movie. I've seen a lot of them in Walmart, so i assume it would be fairly easy to get one there. There's also a grey "normal" Iron man, both could work really well, specially the hands and the articulations. Edit: yeah, looks like the arms are soft...that's good, cos it's easier to carve a joint and use the little ring of any other spare Joe. Then you'll need a new peg to hold it in place, and make a hole on the "upper" arm to make it fit. Remember to do the holes a bit smaller than the pegs; the soft plastic would slightly bend and let the peg slide in, and then will hold it in place. Deep Six was perhaps my biggest letdown from the entire 25th line. His suit should have been articulated so the legs could move at least at the hips and knees, but he's basically wearing concrete overalls with a bowl on his head. OR, make him in a Snake-Armor type suit that's removable. Technically, the way the thing's designed, I don't think a man could physically fit inside it. Not comfortably to move around, anyways. I can't see how 25 years later, he still can't move. I know it's because it needs to fit inside the SHARC, but come on. |

If I'm not mistaken I think the original ARAH version was pretty hollow. I was hoping that the new updated one for the 25th line was hollow as well. That would help me a great deal when making this custom.

Basically, I just want it to look like the current one, just be able to pose him a bit more. |
