Try getting a McFarlane Halo Spartan, their joints are pretty cool, the shoulders, elbows, hips and ankles can be boiled and popped out so you just have the joints, then all you'd have to do is drill some holes for them to pop back into.. the knees are the only major parts that'd need to be modded cause they(the joints) only pop out of the thighs and are connected to the lower legs.
I got a couple spartans on clearance from WM for $3.. so I might give this a try as I was a bit upset with the hunk of plastic hasbro gave us, lol |

Hmm. Great suggestions guys. I'll see if I can track down some of those figures for the spare joints.
That Vintage Deep Six hollowed out is pretty slick... I wish they'd done that with him to begin with. I think the 25th version, while at least it looks better, and yes, it does have some expanded articulation... it's a weak figure, if you ask me. Good thing I'm not the only one who thinks this. Deep Six, as someone else put it, is definitely an inaction figure. |

I was thinking something like this as the base, it's 1/20...

My brother kind of made one. He got his initial inspiration from Mundo's Deep Six on joecustoms.com. Here's what my brother ended up with.

That's kinda cool. I wish some of the edges were a little crisper, but looks pretty good. I'm still afraid to start dremeling it without knowing how it's constructed underneath.
Good idea with the black crinkle-piping though. I thought about using those crunkle straws, and spraying them with some sort of Krylon for joints if I keep the suit removable. |
