This guy went in several directions. He started out as an "old man" fighting off the horde of Zombie Vipers as one of the only remaining Joes. Then he turned into a survivor in my Biters story line. Then I had him standing with the ARW figures and he looked pretty good in there. He has identity issues I guess.
Comments, critiques and thanks as always!

- cool use of color / mostly muted colors but vibrant accents where realistically appropriate
- clever use of the backpack - great compliment of accessories that work well together

I think this looks amazing, what you did to the retaliation trooper's backpack was genius and I want to know your method and tools for painting eyes. He looks incredibly expressive.

thanks guys.
For the eyes, I cover the area of the eye and around it in white. Then I use a .1 or .2 mm sharpie, can't think of the size but its the smallest sharpie tip you can buy, and I do a thin line above the eye, then a black dot in the middle. Lastly I repaint the skin colour around the eyes slowly until its a decent shape. Rarely do I get it on the first try, usually I have to repaint at least 2 to 3 times either from my hands not being steady or a little one sneaking up on dad while he's painting. The brushes I use are basic generic craft brushes, I do have fine detail ones from Citadel, but I trim the generic ones thinner then any fine detail brush I can find.

I go outside the lines for the white, then do the detail in black or sometimes blue, then cover over the white outside the eye line with skin colour. Basically the white is the canvas for the detail work rather then being part of the detail work. Thanks again for the comments gents!

Of all the great details, I love the fletching on the bolts best. Those colors are perfect, looks like they came out an archery shop.
