I decided to have a go at the Budo figure from the Retaliation line.
At first my fixes were fairly simple, cutting slits into the skirt armor to make his legs more flexible. But I also found the original armor to be far to constricting for double handed sword action, so that had to go. I eventually changed the legs with ROC Flash(Thanks Tycondrius! I had it wrong the first time) because I hate the rocker ankles. Cut away most of the skirt leaving the armor bits, but cutting slits into the sides following the armor so that the pieces could move individually. I also cut away the facemask from the helmet and added a new armor that I painted up. Other fixes were mostly cosmetic with paint, highlighted the gold much much more, I do plan on doing more touch ups there. Added the storm shadow (Whirldwind kick?) armor and painted it because it allows for mobility with the arms. So here we go: Last edited by haradrel; 09-09-2013 at 02:35 PM.. |

Dude that's awesome. Saw your post earlier on Joedios.
Did you cut up the skirt while still on the figure or were you able to remove it? Seems like it's glued on and doesn't look like it'll slide off after removing the legs.

I cut it when it was on the figure making slits to move the individual plates first, it's a bit of a hassle but it's worth it. The plastic/rubber is pliable so it is fairly easy to do if you do a few cuts, only problem is nicking things underneath which will ruin the legs. |

I'll put up a side by side comparison to the original after I've touched up the paint a bit.
