I doubt this could be considered a custom, more of a kitbash really, but I made a few modifications to the Retaliation Budo figure and wanted to get some feedback.
Basically, all I did was trim off the excess from his skirt, and gave him some SE legs. I also threw in a bow from a 25th Storm Shadow for good measure. I tried to give the armor on his vest/leggings a little more realistic look by adding some shading. All I did was use a magic marker and then smear/rub it with my finger to wash it out a little bit. Anyways, what do you guys think? I know it's nothing major, but I really disliked the Budo figure, and though I'm still not happy with him, I feel that at least this way, he doesn't look like a big red blob of plastic. |

I dig it too. It looks more modern, like the original. I'd say it's a custom for sure, you modified parts. I kitbash is more just a parts switch.

The Retaliation Budo looks nice, but is totally non-functional as a soldier and an action figure. I like what you did with it - it's a bit more common sense. Although I couldn't imagine getting into a fight with those damn antlers.

Eh, whatever, though. I understand why OP did the mods, and about the complaints this figure has gotten in general, but sometimes it's alright form triumphs over function. |

I like the changes and I think the weathering brings out the intricacies of the sculpt, and I think a few scuffs here and there would look awesome. You know this Budo figure in general reminds me of a Neo Contra character. I that video game there was this samurai future warrior and he rocks! He also made me laugh to no end in the extra movie.

I did the skirt thing too. I modified mine to give it more of an ARAH vibe. It's amazing what cutting that skirt does. Good job.
