Completed 4/12/14: Red Shadows Trooper!
I struggled with this one a lot; whether to stick with bright red like the original, or go with a grittier urban version. Since I really liked the cloak, you can see my final direction. Couldn't resist the pic showing the figure's "shadow"... Recipe: Body--ROC Cobra Trooper, painted red and a grey wash Head--Help! I forget! Originally cast in grey with red eyes...? Now black with white eyes accessories--lower helmet is modified Alley Viper helmet upside down, upper helmet and web belt is DG Cobra Trooper, gun and ammo pack are same as original Red Shadows Trooper, cloak is from Thor Asian figure, and Red Shadow decals are from Cobrastickers.com.

I like this a lot. I've been working on coming up with my own histories of the GI Joe enemy factions, and am currently working on a write-up for the Red Shadows. This figure looks very cool - I like a more realistic version over a traditional cartoon/comic book style. It actually gives me an idea of quick an easy substitute LBC to stand-in for the Red Shadows in my collection.

The shadow really makes this a winner man
Do you still have the original picture of it without the reference image, just him and the shadow? I would love to admire it just like that. Also if you have more images of this I would love to see it |

Yeah, I knew I wanted to use Hogan's cape after I stole his head for my custom Budo. Glad you agree that it works!
