]So I have updated and better quality shots on the way first up are Python Patrol Scarlett, Dr Xaius and Orangutan Orderly:
Code Name: Scarlett File Name: O'Hare, Shana M. Grade: E-2 PMOS: Python Patrol Trooper SMOS: Medic POB: Atlanta, GA Bio: Originally a GI Joe Counter Intel Agent, she was snared by the Beast Squad during a battle on Cobra Island. One of the Wolftroopers knocked her out. Xaius and Mindbender decided to reprogram her personality from one befitting intell to one befitting nurse. They injected her with a cocktail of nanomites, Chemical X, and an experimental behaviour modification drug that Xaius was developing and then subjected her to the Pythonication process as well a treatment in the age reversal spa, where her memories were also erased. She was sucessfully modified from a combative inteligence agent to pacifist and obedient medic assigned to heal the Cobras that her former Joe allies had wounded. She carried out her task wholeheatedly. Cobra didn't want her giving orders, so they made her the lowest ranking member of Python Patrol. Despite this, she tends to enjoy her job and makes a point of getting along with all the members of her new team. Per the orders of Serpentor and CC, she is no longer able to wield firearms or crossbows in the course of a battle. It has been a few weeks since she was captured, and she has adjusted well to her forced side-change. Expert in: triages, CPR, bandaging, first aide, seach & rescue (Sea, land and air), medivacs, and casting. From Xaius' files: From the outset of our experiment on her, Scarlett has proved to be a most obedient and loyal medic and a great asset for our side. I hope this is permanent. Final version of Cobra Pvt Scarlett: Formula: Head: 25th Anniversary Scarlett Body/Arms/Legs: ROC Baroness with some paint Accessaries- Med kit- 30th life line Radio and belt: PTE figure Helmet: 30th Trooper (Dremeled to fit) Dufflebag and Tricorder: Random Star Trek Accessories Decals: Cobrastickers.com and left over Ret CG stickers

I have to give you lots credit for attempting to mimic that woodlands camouflage pattern. It is not easy to paint by any means. I have to say I like the cobra symbols on her uniform, stickers typically do not stay on figures have you considered water slide decals? I have not tried them yet myself but after seeing some of the amazing results dusty posted recently I would definitely try that.
May I ask what kind of paints you use? And did you sand your figure with fine grit sand paper before painting? I ask because the paint seems a little thick and that can be solved fairly easily in the future with some pre production preparation. Keep rocking bro |

Keep rocking bro In the next updated photo shoot, I'm posting Jedi Squd Leader Transco. Stay tuned. Also, I might start using Photobucket for customs posts because I'm nearing my Hisstank Attachment strorage capacity. Anyone know how? Also, with the Scarlett custom, the legs became looser at the point connected to the t-bar. Does anyone know how to correct this?

Bio:
Code Name: Col. Transco File Name: Classified Place of Birth: Classified Qualified In: The Use of all NATO, Jedi and WARSAW Pact Small Arms. Primary Weapon: Green Lightsabre Side Arms: Scaramanga Golden Gun and 12 shot Automatic Colt Revolver. Primary Military Specialty: Jedi Master (Sage) Secondary Military Specialty: Fixed Wing Piliot Current Posts: Commander of the Jedi Squad and the Commander of Steel Brigade. Back story: While flying his Ghost Striker X-116 over Cobra Island in 1992, the then 19 year old recent recruit into the Steelbrigade's Air Force division was engaged in a dogfight with one of Cobra's top AVAC's in a Firebat. As the two chased each other in the air, a highspeed shooting match ensued. Neither man could down the other, so they sped up and tried to ram one another at supersonic speeds. The vortex generated by these speeds forced open a time portal. Both Transco and the AVAC ended up crashing on Kashyyyk, in the Star Wars Galaxy. There, they met a Wookie Jedi who chased them through the forrest and used the force to render the two intruders unconsious. The Wookie was about to finish them off, he sensed the force in Transco. He also sensed the Darkside in the AVAC. The Wookie left the AVAC in the forrest, and took Transco before the council. Transco would be trained, first by Yoda, then by Aayla Secura, and eventually became a Jedi Sage, building himself a green light sabre. The AVAC would wind up training under Darth Sidious, and become Darth Viperous. The two would met again in battle as the Army of The Republic faced off against the Separtists, this time, they were flying Jedi Fighters. Once again, a time portal opened, bringing them and Aayla Secura back to 2001 Earth. There, they returned to GI Joe HQ and Cobra Island. Aalya Secura concieved of the Jedi Council on Earth, and sent Transco on a mission to discover Force sensitives on Earth. Thus, both the Jedi Squad and the Jedi Council of the Earth were concieved. The Jedi squad joined forces with the Joes to oppose the Cobra Siths. He is currently on a mission with the Steel Brigade and Jedi Squad to try to find a downed Joe Pilot Codename: Flygirl before the Cobras do. "Hawk interrupted my meditations in the Temple so we could face this ugly bozo in combat?" Transco force-throwing the first Cobra Repitile Trooper into a tree during the search for Flygirl.

Hi, glad to see you customizing and even adding some text to the pictures.
If I may offer some feedback, in the spirit of watching you grow as an artist First I want to commend you on improving your presentation. The pictures are definitely clearer and I see what you are going for. I also like that you are including text in your shots to convey story. All valid and important elements. The narration is clear and concise. Next lets talk about the composition of your shots if I may. The background is too cluttered and you risk taking the viewer out of the story you are trying, to engage him in. I would recommend a white or solid black background to display the shot. Also the placing of the text is hard to read at times, if possible take your pictures with adding text later in mind. That way you leave enough space for the text. Think comic books, artists leave sufficient clearance for text boxes and word balloons. Finally let's discuss the figures. The designs are pretty cool and I like the, ideas here. I think the painting can definitely benefit from some technique. I would recommend you sand your figures with very fine grit paper. Paint will stick better. My second recommendation is to apply considerably less paint, instead apply thin coats allow to dry then apply a little more until the color is applied. I would suggest model masters acryl. No need for paint thinner it can and will melt your figure. Water is better to thin the coats down. To tighten lose joints just add a drop of super glue but make sure you move the joints constantly until the glue dries. It wil make the joints tight and it should still articulate. As far as photobucket, just make an account, upload the picture and it will give you a link to copy and paste. Sorry for the lengthy comment but I believe you have the desire to improve and I hope this helps. |
