I am old enough to of had both Joe and Cobra gliders. If you were like me you played with them and broke them, it didn't take much. I couldn't imagine paying over 100 bucks to own one today, that's if you can find one!
So I got my creative juices flowing and went over to my local art supply store. I bought some 1/4" foam board, some blue and green spray paint and a black paint marker. I decided to buy off ebay the figure frame support for the original gliders after all what good would it be without it? Then to top it off I bought the stickers for them from Cobrastickers.com. After several attempts I was able to make a master template. I had nothing to work with except a pic from Hiss Tank were someone actually took a tape measure to an original glider but it was only the length and width. I had to guesstimate all the angles. The wings were a total guess too! I say all an all I'm satisfied with the final product. Id like to share the pics with you. Last edited by HydroMan; 04-06-2014 at 04:26 PM.. |

Ahhhh,....Those pics brought back some childhood memories! They were only good for a 3-4 throws before they cracked,...but they were worth it! Awesome job reproducing them,...I would definately be interested in buying a set if you make some more!

Never had them myself, never realized they were that large (was thinking half that size). Still hoping D&J gets around to reproducing these.
