I choosed the Gung-Ho's ALICE pack. We do all the same steps...and you will see wich problems you may get during the molding process, and myabe I can show you how you can solve them. So...I used the same BISON 2 part epoxy syringe as at the FLints beret molding:
DSCN2944 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr I put all the stuff inside a clean syringe and mixed it inside of it. After 2-5 min of mixing..I just pushed the mixed stuff out inside the mold. The mold looked this way: DSCN3128 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr I made 1 part mold, cause it wasn't necessary to make those little part wich used to make the backpack hang on the figures. I will show below how we can make it by ourselfs. If you won't do it for the figures - it'll be easy to attach on the vehicles. So..you just push the mixed stuff inside the molding part...fill it up...and put a cardboard piece on it...than just roll with some ducktape for a 6 hours. DSCN3129 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr |

After 6 hours I've got this:
DSCN3130 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr You can clearly see that it aint the best mold. It has a lot of misses thx for the air bubbles. I wasn't so upset, cause finally I maded a backpack copy. So...not ideal but what can we do to save it? I just took a bit more epoxy glue...and fulfilled the holes with it..and leaved it for another 4-6 hours: DSCN3134 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr Much better...isn't it? =) |

I decided that I will made it for figures. So I need those tiny peg there. How we can do it?
I glued a piece of cardboard to make the part more straight. Then dremeled a tiny hole in the centre. Cutted a pieice from the ink-tube of the pen (wich is a perfet fit in the back hole of the figure) and glueded it inside the pack..like this: DSCN3135 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr So...the original: DSCN3141 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr The copy: DSCN3137 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr |

Some paintwork:
DSCN3138 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr DSCN3140 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr and again the original: DSCN3136 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr and the painted copy: DSCN3144 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr Yes..isn't a 100% copy...but I can give it 85-90%. Ideal to gear up a little army =) So to summ up: We know how to copy weapons. We know how to copy headgears. Now we know how to copy backpacks. I hope I can figure out as part 4, how to copy armor-vests..and than you will able to gear up a whole figure on your own. Wish me luck. =) Thanks for watching...and happy molding! =) |

The imperfections in your copy actually seem to elevate it's realism above the original. Cool stuff.
