Payday 2 is a super fun co-operative multiplayer game that is clearly a passion project of it's creators. It's something I respect and I felt a certain kinship to these characters. I even loved the ultra cheesy Live Action web series they had, and I really hope they finish it up. I knew I had to do these characters in a 3.75"/4" scale using GI Joes. Added some photoshop magic just to make it a bit more fun.
Heads: Custom Sculpted by me Bodies: Marvel Universe Professor X with sculpted vests. Was a great learning experience, as I'd never done this much sculpting before. Dallas also utilizes a waterslide decal for the blue part of his mask, as it was just going to be impossible to do with paint. This was also my first experience using waterslide decals, and it turned out really well, I believe. The various straps and such were made using a black denim patch I got from Wal-Mart, used for patching holes in pants. Please feel free to check out bigger pics on my deviant art gallery along with my previously posted work. GI Joe Customs by EmtheMad on deviantART Thanks guys! |

Thank you so much Thanks man. It started as just one...but whats the point of doing one of these guys if you're not gonna do all of them? lol I definitely lucked out when my local target got this wave in. I must have got there same day they put them out, and I nabbed 3 of them on retail. They can be pretty pricey on the aftermarket right now. But they're so perfect for customs. Beware that they have a really short neckball, and I replaced the neck ball joints on each of these figures as well. |
