Cobra Commander took notice how devastating the Thunder Machine was in battle, so he had his own version built. A prototype was built using a Stinger body. Twin gatling guns were added to the front and a high horse power jet engine was fit in the back. The suspension was raised for better clearance, front and rear ram bars were added, as well as a set of lights on the role cage. Also added was the front window armour. The result was a very affective and reliable battlefield vehicle. The name Widow Maker was given to it by Cobras Chief vehicle design engineer.
Unfortunately this did not sit well with the Dreadnoks, as they value their independent style from Cobra. They called it a Thunder Machine knock off and tried to destroy the prototype. Zartan himself didn't care but the rest of the Dreadnoks including his brother and sister didn't like it and threatened to leave the Dreadnoks as they felt Cobra would end up controlling them. Zartan convinced Cobra Commander that it wasn't worth the hassle and that the Dreadnoks were too valuable to both of them as a group, so the project was scrapped. Of course Zartan had to shell out the money Cobra had invested into the Widow Maker. Instead of scrapping the vehicle it was giving to the Dreadnoks to use as their own. Ironically they decided to leave it as it is and not repaint it. I've had this built in my head for a long time. Several Tankers said my Thunder Truck looked like a Stinger, well it does. So I decided to make a Stinger into a Thunder Machine. I shortened the Jet engine to fit on the back of the Stinger, added some plastic around it so it looks like it belonged there. I cut a whole in the hood to fit the gatling guns, also cut the bullet belt in half so it was a bit smaller. I also lengthened the trailer hitch to fit around the new rear bumpers I took from an R.C. jeep. Then I added the Hiss two light bar to the roof and an antenna from the check point alpha. I cut out the Thunder Machine axles and modified the Stinger chassis to fit them. It was not easy getting the right height and stance, but I love how it looks. I also fully detailed the interior by painting the seats and dash gauges. I kept the Thunder Machine wheels as I like the Hot Rod look it gives it. In total I have about 16 hours in this project. I think it's one of my best this year and the last one of 2013. Cost Stinger jeep 10.00 Thunder Machine 15.00 Extra parts 10.00 Stickers 8.00 Paint 11.00 Total 54.00

Wow man, that's pretty rad! Great job! The amalgamation of the two vehicles is seamless and brilliantly done!

Came out nice. I still do not like the entire concept of the jet engine drawing straight through the cab of a vehicle though. I never thought about it as a kid because I was not as aware of how a Jet engine worked but now I look at it and think that it would be a horrible idea.

Looks sweet but for the Noks I'd prefer the wacky colors. Still looks cool. You need to make Thrasher's long lost little brother to drive it.
About the jet engine if its good enough for Adam West it's good enough for the Noks. |
