I think that at very least you should look into making some calls. Start with Hasbro since it would be cooler if they were licensed, but if that were to be a dud, then call some of the competing off brands. All the big ones. They could not be called GI Joe or Transformers but it would get them out there. And you have the prototypes so hopefully it would get you either some cash for your designs or maybe even a dream job. Well maybe it would not be a dream job for everyone but it would be pretty darn cool to get to design toys for money.
I guess the big question is why no one is doing it, but it couldn't hurt to make some calls, and worst case is some companies simply steel your idea, which would not be a bad thing either unless you were planning on mass producing these yourself. |

I love it. I am still amazed that Hasbro doesn't make a GI Joe/Transformers crossover line for retail. It would be a hit.

A lot of ideas come from looking at the custom artists here, to name a few, lance858 and his rebel angel stuff is gorgeous, Blood Brigade, Dremel with their vehicle innovations, Doctor Vile especially, I consider him my mentor, he is a pioneer doing G.I. Joe Transformers, Jin Saotome, I think that guy comes from another planet, he is so talented, and many others here bro. The rest is just ideas I write down/ sketch whenever a light bulb turns on in my head. Thanks Lance, this one took some subtle changes to the motorcycle frame to add the side car, the paint was hard because of all the washes and I had to rebuild the hips and legs because they broke when customizing them so that freaked me out but pretty much a good drill, dremel, some magnets and paint. Thanks a lot brother, well I still have to measure, quite a lot of measuring although not so much for this one. After cutting you do get gaps in the vehicles, but you can fill those holes in various ways, just depends. |
