These figures have been shown but they connect to the story with the Glacial Viper. Here is my part 2 for those that enjoy a read.
Enjoy the chaos. --- The gate sirens rang out. The primary Earth Stargate was moved in 2011 to a new internationally-run secret base. Most of the base were USAF staff but like the Atlantis mission, it was diverse. The gate was up and dialing itself. "Incoming traveler," the gate operator reported over the intercom, "Repeat: Incoming traveler. Security Forces defense team 1 to the gate room. Repeat, Defense 1 to the gate room." The Iris closed by command and the Air Force security forces defense team charged into the room with guns raised. From the .50 cal platform to the Beretta. Some of the airmen weren't even in body armor; just guards at the ready. While others had their Kevlar gear head to boot, or toe. "Confirmed dial. It's SG-26, sir. They're not on schedule." "Understood Sergeant. Lower the Iris. Defense team!" the Colonel yelled over the com. "Yes sir!" responded the defense team leader, a Tech Sergeant. "Hold fire. We are not taking chances. If it's not SG-26, defend this room." "Hooah!" The room rang out. "Sgt. Wade, deactivate the gate on my order." "Understood." The Sgt replied from gate control console. Learning from previous SGC operations throughout the SGC gate protocol was much disciplined. If it wasn’t for SG1 and their experiences, the disciplined protocol around the gate would most likely be a failure. Homeworld command was forced to allow a specific presence to oversee off world activity and thanks to General O’Neill’s proposal, the SGC brought in the Joes: A formidable force to be reckoned with in the eyes of Cobra. G.I. Joe operators were dubbed Joes and imbedded into the Sierra-Gulf (SG) teams. Some teams have been modeled around former Joe squads. -(SG has been the abbreviation for both Stargate and Sierra-Gulf but O’Neall called it Sierra-Gulf…so whatever) But right now the Destiny is between galaxies on a voyage to the unknown. It’s in the year 2012 and the SGC off-Earth sites are abundant; Six sites in all. The Delta site had not radioed back to the SGC in 2 weeks and caused quite a stir among the commanders. Delta site was assumed wiped out. Even in dire situations, the sites would not contact each other or even Earth for fear of the address falling in the wrong hands. “Sir, it’s SG26’s transponder. We’re good.” “They’re early, Sgt. Let’s not get our guard down. Lower the Iris and let’s see what we have walking in.” “Understood Colonel.” The gate op replied. “Iris open. Beware of boarders.” The portal puddle was beautiful. Lights dancing from it and every time it opened the room lit with a blue hue. For the few that get to see it at least once, it was a spectacular show. “There are four travelers, sir.” The gate op reported. Out from the gate puddle stumbled a man with someone holding him from behind. It was Beachhead with a gun to the man’s back. The man was a Steel Brigade member and new member of Beachhead's SG26. The man had a wound in his belly, most likely shot. Behind Beachhead were his SG team members, Dee-jay and Barricade. The new guy was Corporal Miller and he had a 1911 to his back at the moment. The four stopped a few feet from the base of the ramp and waited for the defense team to do something. Beachhead noticed the Colonel in the gate control room above. His eyes lit up and ran downstairs to the gate ramp. "Beachhead! What the hell is going on?" the Colonel exclaimed. "You know this man, Colonel?" "Of course! It's Corporal Miller of your team. What. What's going on, son? Explain yourself quick." "Sir, it’s not really Miller. At least not the Miller we want him to be. Don't worry. He's been shot. Miller won’t be escaping this time but he isn’t talking..so you know. I shot him.” Beachhead chuckled then directed to the sergeant of the guard. “Sergeant, take this Snake to the brig. He's part of Cobra, sir. Cobra has officially breached our command." "I trust you Beachhead. Sergeant, do what he says." The Colonel commanded. "He won't be the only one, sir. We need to be ready." "We are." A shot thundered the gate room. Beachhead fell off the gate ramp as blood splattered the gate ring behind him. The defense team attempted to aim toward one of their own. One of the airmen had shot Beachhead. A silver ball fell from airman’s hand and the room lit up like a flare. A moment passed and it was silent. Everyone but the airman unconscious, including the gate control center. Alone, he stood over the fallen men in the room. He picked up the Goa’uld shock grenade, or Tok’kal for Goa’uld. Unfortunately the range on it was 30 meters which means he had more enemy to deal with in the next corridor. "Firefly to Glass 1. I’m activated." "Glass, here. Why are you contacting me now? We’re not ready for you." "Moving forward with the plan, Glass. The Fred under SG26 was compromised." “You know the schedule. Infiltration from the sub is two minutes out.” “Hurry up. I’ll get you boys ready here but the SGC will be on alert in moments.” “Firefly, that’s perfect. Get the gate ready for us. I guess the plan just got easier.” “You do your job and I’ll do mine. Firefly, Out!” “Glass, over and out.” Firefly ran up stairs to gate control. The staff were out cold for now. He shut down the returning gate and readied it for an outgoing wormhole. He could hear stampeding footsteps down the hall. His heart was racing and his chest and ears were burning. Taking a shock grenade blast will knock most people out unless you’re trained AND ready for it. The pain was there but he had to bypass it and focus. He scrambled on the keyboard and interface for control of the gate. Controlling the gate was simple but time was not on his side. He knew that the Specials were about to hit the base. Firefly was contacted days before but the exact timing was not disclosed. Only the Specials knew the timing because they literally chased the submarine around until it headed for SGC’s secret dock, unbeknownst to Firefly. “Security is still tight as usual.” Firefly decided what to do. He dropped to the floor and lay prone as if he was knocked out with the rest of the nearby staff. The SF defense team 2 charged in and cleared the area. No enemies. They’ve ran these drills since SG1 dealt with shock grenades during the early Apophis campaigns. The enemy is here somewhere among the airman. No other doors were open from the inside. “Let’s get medics in here!” one of them cried out. Firefly calmed himself and lowered his heart rate. He can’t be the first awake among the fallen but he has to neutralize the defense teams somehow so the Glacial Viper ‘Specials ‘have a simple entry to the gate room. The gate was still running. “We need to turn that off.” One of the SFs said, “Get to work guys.” The SF’s checked the room, the controls and the fallen airmen. “They’re alive!” one of the yelled. Another checked Firefly. Firefly sprang into action and kicked out the airman's feet from under him. Firefly pounced up and shot the airman in the knee. He picked him up and took him as a shield. There were only 3 airmen in the control room. Unlike the Cheyenne Mountain SGC, there was not a stairwell to the briefing room; just two doors in the control room. Door 1 was passage to the rest of the base and door 2 with stairs down to the gate blast doors. The remains of defense team 2 were at the gate trying to revive the fallen airmen, the Colonel and SG26. Firefly took the chance. He shot the other two SF’s and told the other SF to lock down the gate room and gate control room. The blast doors shut behind the men downstairs and doors 1 and 2 of the control room locked. “Perfect execution I might say.” The injured airman worked the gate interface. “You’ll never get away with this!” “Oh but I will. I always do.” Firefly took the airman’s gun while he was in the chair and aimed both guns at him. “This will only go two ways. You die or do your job and live. I don’t have to kill anyone else. Now get back to work.” The airman did as Firefly said. “Deactivate the alarms so your friends can’t turn them on from this level. Then type these coordinates into the system.” In the gate room below, the men were being revived. The Colonel woke up and attempted the alarm switch on the wall. Nothing worked. He took his cell out and made a quick call to Washington. “General O’Neill, I need the C.T. dropped here immediately. I have only moments until my gate is completely lost.” O’Neill responded, “Don’t worry Colonel. We have your back. Stay alive and on this call as long as possible.” --- Thanks for reading. I wish I got more votes to get a better understanding of where my story sits. For myself, I enjoyed making it. But only so few votes counted compared to overall views.
There will be a part 3. Thank you guys for diving into my little Joe/gate world. The two worlds grew early on in my childhood and I just had to flush the two together for the fun of it! In the attachment should be a small hint at one of the characters to emerge in another chapter. OK now...onto more world creating. Which means typing and painting ~(×_×)~ |
