^^^That's interesting - thanks for sharing that info Rex. Did they explain this on facebook or something?
I agree there seems to be some holes in that explanation though. For FSS2 they didn't have full mockups - just CGI drafts of the head sculpts to show with parts mockups. Wouldn't they have expected the same for Iceberg and realized something was wrong when they didn't receive it? For the record as well this project was born out of raw curiosity - not to say POC Low-Light was the 'end-all / be-all' but rather to explore the possibility and review the results. Since turning away from O-ring the club has turned out some high quality designs. Iceberg unfortunately is not one of them. Last edited by Dod Ear; 10-16-2013 at 09:15 PM.. |

I think it's a cool experiment, you guys did a great job. And hell, it's STILL better than the vintage retooled head. I'd have been annoyed with a "brown-face" Lowlight from the Club, but it sure wouldn't look as awful as that bobblehead 1980s sculpt they used.
It's a mix of Facebook comments and someone asking at the Con what the hell happened. (And then my own doubts were listed as doubts, obviously.) As usual, they blamed China for the delays. Where's FSS2? Oh wait, it's on a boat from China, the Club had nothing to do with the delay. While they very well may have the worst luck with the Chinese factory, it's just too convenient that it's ALWAYS their fault. Fuck-up on the missing paint apps from FSS1? Oh, China! Had nothing to do with someone at the Club approving a prototype or test sample and not catching it. Chinese 3rd party companies go out of their way to please their customers by fixing things that aren't right. Factory fuck up? They send a replacement part or parts. Bad design? I've gotten newly designed parts, at no extra charge from them. While it may be comparing apples to oranges, it's still a business geared at a very select, very niche premium collector market. And it has Hasbro's blessing, so I'm not giving the Club any slack for their continued mistakes and excuses. |

Working through the production of the figure I took some pics for DOD to get his suggestions before sending it back to him. Here are a few of the pics: |

I gotta give MEGA PROPS to SJ74 for this IB custom he painted for me. He painted the head, hat, and skirt. The recipe for the head and hat can be found in this thread:
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...d-options.html Here is SJ74's awesome work: I think I might get around to changing the upper legs to the 3 pack SS with some dremeling to get the knife holder on there. I may cut the shoulder fur off too. I haven't decided yet.
