Hi! I want to offer you some feedback. I have checked out your other posts and have found some really great ideas and I believe that with some practice, tutorials, experience and some online advice you will be on your way to making some awesome works of art without having to go through so much trial and error.
You seem like a receptive guy that can take criticism constructively so here is mine. None of it is personal nor aimed to offend you or your work. Only an attempt to help you grow so you don't make the mistakes I made when I started out. And I believe others can tell you the same. First: Quality over quantity. Starting out customizing you sort of take the role of Doctor Frankenstein (parts from here, parts from there and voila!!!) chop and glue. That works at first but you want to improve. The goal in my mind is to make a custom that looks seamless. To do that, you focus weeks and months on one project. All your efforts need to focus on that one project. Later with experience you will be able to tackle 2 or three projects at a time but my suggestion at your stage is to focus on one at a time and give that one your full attention. Second: Know your tools, get familiarized with your dremel, if need be invest in the best tools for the job. I can't hold a dremel by itself, so I invested a little more on a extension cable and a dremel stand. Worth it bro, I tell you. Research good paints, they can make or break your custom. The drill bits you will use and the kind of sculpt for the job is also important. Apoxie fixit sculpt is great and I swear by it but if you find something that works better for you, use that. Remember you want a sculpt that will look streamlined after you sand it. Sanding paper (of varied grits) and metal files are your friends. Finally, styrene, you will need styrene plastic to make frames and parts for your custom. Third: Measure twice, cut once. Fourth: Find tutorials online, they are free and there is a wealth of knowledge out there man. Use it to your advantage. Don't be afraid to ask for advice from your fellow tankers. We all were beginners once. Some of us still are (I will always consider myself a learner and for me there is room for improvement) Fifth: Keep rocking it and don't give up, try for each custom to be your best. Sixth: And final advice, Presentation, presentation, presentation. You want the best pictures with the best camera within your means. There are also tutorials on that as well. Don't worry about polling your stuff to see how many like it or not. The important thing is that you know you made progress as a custom artist and got better at a skill be it sanding, cutting or molding. Good luck to you man and I hope to see more work from you.
