If anyone has one or knows its size and dimensions please reply!
I think I am to a point where I may be able to reconstruct one but want to make it the right scale not to waste materials. Last edited by CrimsonGuard101; 04-08-2009 at 11:19 PM.. |

Well I figured it out. Found a pic online where a guy had one laid out on the floor with the pilot sitting on top of it.
Played around in Microsoft Photosuite and knowing the pilot is 3 3/4inches (rounded to 4 inches to keep things even), I roughed out the edges and shape buy moving a copied image and layer of the pilot around the edges of the glider in the picture. Used a transparent layer of a protactor to measrue the angles. Worked for the most part was, able to get a blueprint roughly drawn to template over in a larger scale. Overall it is roughly 20inches wide and 10 inches deep. the front wings are on an obtuse angle of 220 degrees and the rear side of the main wings is 140 degrees. The triangle on the back is a 90 degree angle directly off center and rotated 20-30degrees off perpendicualr to the main body. Here are some pics of what it turned out like. I used Foambard since it was durable and easier to deal with than styrofoam or cardstock. I am not to concearned if she'll fly, it is just for mouting/display pusposes, although if it was properly wieghted and more care taken in it's measurments it might just do that. Still have to paint it up and design a moutning system for a figure. The measurments I did were not 100% true to the orignal but looks like the glider to me! I will post it up if everyone would like a step by step process I did to make the template. Last edited by CrimsonGuard101; 04-12-2009 at 03:07 PM.. |

So far so good, looking forward to the finished product. The Cobra glider was my first vehicle back in the day, it didn't last long. So will it be painted GI Joe or Cobra colors?
