So, this one came about because I am experimenting between taping and using mesh for a later Python Patrol project...and because I wanted to do something different as far as desert camo. Anyway, this is a Retaliation HISS retro-fitted to a Crimson HISS chasis & treads. I also used the POC HISS driver seat & control stick. Like with my black HISS I went with the cannon & gat from a POC HISS for the side armaments. Base color is kaki tan and the scales are boot leather brown. I also put gold stripes in this. Rather hard to see the gold (which is what I was hoping for), but the lighter looking areas are where the gold is. Been thinking of calling this a Sidewinder HISS. As always, C&C wecolmed!

Very nice custom! I don't understand why Hasbro didn't do this with the Retaliation H.I.S.S tank in the first place! -If they would have took what was great from the 30th/P.O.C H.I.S.S Tanks (..the moving treads, etc.) & added this to the clear canopy of the Retaliation H.I.S.S tank; they would have had a real winner on their hands (..Hasbro knows this because when they make a solid figure or vehicle; it sells fairly quickly whether in retail or online)!
I have three 30th/P.O.C H.I.S.S tanks but no Retaliation H.I.S.S tanks yet with the same intention you did here! Great custom! Hasbro are you paying attention? -The vehicles need to match what you get from the figures; great sculpt, great features and playability (.. great mobility in some cases)! Some great paint apps wouldn't hurt either Hasbro! Thanks for the great figures in Gi Joe Retaliation waves 3.5 & 4; keep it up Hasbro (..I hope to see those great figures shown off from the 2012-2013 Concept case; with nice paint apps like modern Sunbow Flint, Gung-Ho, Leatherneck, Destro, Rock N Roll, Beachhead, Cobra Officer, etc.)! |

This was my expetiment using mesh. Painted the body kaki. After it dried I used pieces of mesh cut from a mesh laundry bag and wraped around the body halves. From there I sprayed 3 light coats of brown letting each dry before starting the next. Keep in mind to use even strokes when spraying & try to keep the spray at the same angle with each coat or the scales will turn out distorted.

Don't care what anybody says, I like seeing this version Hiss tank in different paint schemes. Well done!
