Well I hate painting which is why I avoid repaints. That is why I had been sitting on this one for months.
It was originally a PP Conquest that someone had repainted into a normal conquest. Well I finally sat in on and it and it was as bad as I had feared but I got it done. So here it goes. Last edited by Dremel; 08-18-2013 at 08:52 PM.. |

Always hated the Tiger Force. I like your clean painting better than your weathered paint finishes. Paint really makes a custom, in a good way or a bad way. You've got the skills for sure nice work.

I love tiger force, and especially TF customs. This is spot on, and i would love to see this done in the future by the club in a TF expansion.

Thanks but paint is not my thing. I can obviously paint a little but I hate doing it. I much prefer the building of frankensteined vehicles.

It almost never fails that when I Use spray paint in layers it lifts. This vehicle already had a Testors primer on it when I got it. Yellow went on fine, but the white lifted around where the yellow and primer met, so had to sand and repaint. Then got some lifting on the wings when I sprayed the tan layer on top, so had to sand some of that and repaint. Tried taping the stripes and then hand painting but the paint was too thin or my Masking tape was not good enough because they spread out under the tape and made a huge mess. Luckily caught it quick and was able to fix it. So the stripes are all drawn on free hand.
The sad thing is I have an air brush but do not have it set up to be used easily. I think if I corrected that issue painting might get a little less stressful, if I do not have to worry about spray paint lifting. |

Again, I never liked the TF stuff, but these repaints on the vehicles I have been seeing are just too good!

I really like what you did here. I went a different route with my wings, as seen below. I had a really hard time because I originally spray painted the yellow, when I made some mistakes it was hard to come up with something acrylic to match it. Great job here, I love me some Tiger Force!
