I am a BIG fan of the Mad Max films, my favorite being the first.
I set about building up my Max custom figure last year, but had to put it on hold due to the lack of a proper head to use. Well, recently, Hasbro released a couple of generic troopers in a K-Mart 2 pack. I saw a slight resemblance to Mel Gibson. I tried to replicate the look of the first film's uniform as best I could. enjoy. recipe: head = K-mart At AT driver torso= ROC Storm Shadow modded arms= DG Cobra Commander thighs= Destro lower legs= Avengers Nick Fury. Sawed off= Marauder's holster= ???

DAMN. That is SWEET, brother! I'm a big Mad Max fan myself, and you totally captured his look!
Also, great call on the head...it does indeed have a really strong resemblance to Mel Gibson, even down the hairdo he had in the movie. You really lucked out on finding that one. Now all you need is a Joe-scale Interceptor...

Great job on Max...now you need to make The Goose! Big fan of the Mad Max trilogy, best first version that I have seen. Made a RoadWarrior version myself, but if I find that head I might change it.

Nice job. The body looks great and the head, while not perfect works too. I understand that it can be a little frustrating lacking an essential part that keeps the custom from being your 'ideal'.
Have you looked into finding a scaled Interceptor car for the figure? I believe Mad Max's Interceptor was based on the 1973 XB GT Ford Falcon Coupe. |

This is really great, I too am a BIG FAN.
I'd like to see you recreate the beginning of the film where Max is working on one of the yellow MFP patrol cars; I have never seen anyone do that. |

From certain angles it is dead on Mel Gibson. I just wish the facial expression was a bit angrier looking. Or more squinty.
