Hey folks, Sharky here.
I've had a good chuckle lately. I've actually come across something on the web that suggested that the AT-RT I did, may in fact...not be my first custom. As I am much flattered by by this. I just wanted to clear things up. That "was" my very first custom ever. I have nothing to lie about, nor nothing to gain by lying about it. There, hope that clears things up! lol! My ADHD is pretty much telling me that I am done with this walker. The idea behind it, is that he is the base camp support for the recon walker I did before. Providing logistics, and fire support. It can do rescue and hot spot extractions. As the main unit, I used the SW AT-AP walker. Some left over parts from the 20mm flak, like the armor over the door view ports. The main gun on top is a 1/32 Long Tom from 21st Century toys. The belly gun is a Transformer. (unless someone knows, I'll post the name later when I find out) I also used a lot of parts from an Apple Cube computer. Some cables and grills. The spindle from the HD. (used for the belly gun turret) and a filter grill....I think? (used for the lower basket in the back) ...and some other various parts from other toys and GI Joe stuff. This one was more of a challenge. With several setback, redesigns and mech issues that I had to work out. Not to mention, weathering a larger toy and trying to make it look realistic comes with it's own problems....much trial and error there. I hope you all enjoy. |

Thanks sgcaper. I think I have used 4 different brands of powder pigments and 6 different washes. Lets not forget the Model Masters metalizers I used and colored primers from Citadel.
Those were my Michael Bay endorsements. |

Very nice! You need to photograph it outside in the sublime light of the setting sun with the time/date feature turned off...

I think one of the biggest things I learned this time around, is to love Krylon textured and hammered paint & rubberized undercoat paint too. (used on the main cannon on top.) Also, having found a weathering system called RustAll. The stuff is awesome!
