It's horrible because usually the ball joint is connected on a straight plane parallel to each other but more recently Hasbro decided that it was cooler to put the joints in the hip at a diagonal angle (my opinion is to put a bigger joint in a smaller space but I digress) thus making it rotate at an awkward angle and just plain looking stupid. Come to think of it some of the earlier MLs from Toybiz had it too like Cable. Eh, IMO the joint is outdated and antiquated. Just give us joe hips with a swivel at the knee cap and you'd have a perfect figure. Not including that since the JVC has been the only gripe in my eyes.

I want to replace my deadpools hips with revoltech joints but I have no idea as to how to go about this.
They make some quality figures and it's mostly due to those revoltech joints. |

If someone is brave enough to try and disassemble a X-Men Origins: Wolverine figure and provide pics/instructions... it will be much appreciated!

Here is the thread I posted asking how to take the figures apart. Somewhere in there is a picture and instructions on how to do it.

From my understanding, the reason the hips are placed on 45 degree angles is because it was a measure to prevent against loose joints, like back when the first few waves of Marvel Legends came out by Toybiz; idiots and assholes complained about loose joints until Toybiz did something, and placing the hips on a higher angle was one attempt (ratcheting joints was another measure).
Hasbro, however, didn't seem to grasp the concept quite clearly, and in the odd event that they actually sculpted their own unique bodies for the ML line, they often copied the 45 degree hips. After all, Hasbro doesn't understand a lot of things; they still believe people will buy their product as long as they tell us to enough times. Anyone who believes they're placed on those high angles because bigger joints wouldn't fit should take an interest in customizing, 'cause you'll quickly be amazed at some of the small joints you'll find in cramped places on even smaller figures like this. Personally, I think anyone who likes these joints has serious issues, since it's a natural human reaction to dislike something we perceive as wrong in a depiction of a human being, and as far as I know, no one in the damn world has hips that move on 45 degree angles! |
