I know this one has given you a lot of headaches, but the result is incredible. I love this thing. Your work is amazing. I can't wait to see what you do next.

i prefer to see them as opportunities to learn from mistakes next iron grenadiers custom will use some adjusted techinques and or paints. the crummy tiger force plastic really put a monkey wrench in everything.

i also cut resolute, movie line, hall of hero's, extreme condition sets, etc out of my joe collection. other than tf materpeice and my rc cars, i don't have any other hobbies i spend money on. i'm willing to bet that with all my customs, i've spent far less than many others here. i still have a large comic pack collection i am looking to sell off as well (pm me if interested). also, considering the costs of kids toys these days, i'd say i'm getting off cheap on that end too. i'd rather spend $30 on a custom gi joe toy made with my son than $50 on a wii game. if anything, i'm running out of room to put many of these vehicles. i'll put some of the nicer ones up in displays and or a cabinet or my kids toy shelf but the rest call a plstic bin home when not being used and gi joe stuff doesn't fit in bins easily.

Hey Arch, just wondering with all the vehicles you have disassembled is the new plastic easily breakable on the 25th vehicles? I'm just curious on the difficulty involved with disassembly in general.
This is awesome I must say. Makes me want to do a Rattler with Night Raven highlights and stickers. |

to take apart the rattler all you need it a sharp xacto knife and a flat metal pry bar (fine flat head screw driver or very small putty knife).
the rear tail fins snap out. pull or push down on the very cab end of the horizontal planes. the wing cover panel is a bit tougher. even more so on the blue rattlers. take the xacto knife and insert it into the gap if any between the panel and the main body. carefully and forcefully cut the glue bond between the two. it should give once you get a portion of the way through. this needs to be done at the front and back of the belly cover panel. stick the pry bar inbetween the panel snaps along the wing joint. there is a bead of glue down this joint and it usually snaps once you get parts of glue bond snapped. due notice, once this is done, the wing rubs on the plane chassis as it rotates more due to the downturn snap panel being pushed out seperating the belly panel. you can shave down the plastic on each side in this area or accept that the paint will scratch as you rotate the wings. i realize this may sound odd but i'll try to get pictures posted soon. i do not take the main body apart. i've painted 3 rattlers so far and if your not doing any body modifications, this is as far as you need to go. you really don't need to seperate the wings from the body however it does make it easier to paint.

actually, these customs are cheaper than or equal to the retail price as a result of thrifty deals from other tankers and clearance shopping.
