Q2: The remakes of the old classic ARAH vehicles have been the highlight of the line in the past year. How likely is it that we will see the re-emergence of the Dragonfly or the Skystriker after the movie line? Hasbro: The Skystriker tooling is not longer in exsistence, so unless we make a new one, this is not coming. The Dragonfly is a possibility in 2010. When I read this from the 1st round of Hasbro GI Joe Q & A I was really disappointed. ACE DESERVES A JET! So basically when I cooled my "Jets" I decided to make my own Skystriker. I made this Skystriker out of a fighter jet (forgot the brand name) I found at Toys R Us. I picked up the decals on eBay, and with a little elbow grease and spray paint I had myself a new GI Joe toy. This is my first custom vehicle, and I am really happy with my end result. It was an awesome build to work with, and Ace fits in it perfectly. Granted, it's a single pilot adaptation of the fighter jet when the original was two pilot fit, but either way I love having Ace's signature jet to display with my modern era figs. With that being said, I'll probably soon recreate another one of these and list it on eBay so another joe collector can enjoy one. Tell me what you think. Let's all hope Hasbro makes a new one!
Good custom man, you might want to change the designation to "XP-22F" though. |

Looks great, I'd buy one like that definitely! I too am disappointed that Hasbro is not going to put out another Skystriker.

Nice work, brother. I personally never cared much for the splashy paintjob, but that's just personal preference. Great job. Should go great with any fleet of aircraft.

The F22 would be the perfect upgrade(and the only i think) to the Skystriker. My only complaint(and this would keep me from buying it).The Skystriker paint/decal job doesn't work with the plane.Change that and it would be a winner.

Very nice work on your custom.
Personally for me, I'd rather have a Skystriker based on the old-school F-14 Tomcat. I'm just too much of a fan of the F-14 to see the Skystriker based on anything else. But again, your custom still looks very good. |
