You are right scalper does not equal army builder, but it does still have the same effects. less product available for kids and and other collectors. Sorry if I offended you or anyone else. I just feel that its a problem which are often shared by most of us. NO not all army builders are scalpers and no not all scalpers army build. I get it but none the less its a problem for the average collector and parent. Plus, wouldnt you like to pay walmart's price and NOT a scalper/ebay master's price? Just for the record, I buy and sell on ebay. I built up a good collection before my son was born and then as he got older bought more figures for him. I do customs and have a revolving door for parts pieces and figures, so I know both ends of this vicious cycle which I am trying to point out. I buy alot of my custom fodder and figures in ebay lots which gets me by when I want to do customs. I have a personal rule for buying at retail... I buy one for me and one for my son. If there is only 2 on the shelves I buy 1 and open it for me and my son. Like I said WE ALL are guilty of this in some form. I am sorry if I offended anyone on here but the truth is the truth.

awesome custom! I hate scalpers... I met one in Kingsport Tn 2 yrs ago who bragged he had one of every gi joe "carded" Of course he wanted the figs that I had in my hand and I told him he could see them but not have them, I then bent the card and he gasped like a little school girl. I have a son who loves joes and he and I collect them. This figure embodies those db's. I don't like army builders either. 3 of the same figure is ENOUGH, unless you are cusomizing them... but I have seen plenty on here who have 15+ of the same fig for "building" it leads to SCALPING. ANYWAY, GREAT FIGURE AND THANKS FOR SHARING!
Army building leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to... ...Scalping? Wait...what?

The thing about scalping and scalpers is that we create them.
Don't want to pay scalper prices, then don't buy the items. The items don't sell, the prices lower. Basic economics. But because we are willing to pay those prices, that's why they exist.

No, army build if you want to. you see like I said before, I am sorry if I offended any of you guys. Yall are blowing this out of proportion. My point is the whole 20 to 30 of the same figure thing for the army building... hey honestly it really doesnt matter. In the great scheme of things I am not seeing the point... I didn't know that so many of my fellow tankers would get upset at me for speaking my mind. Who cares. army build if ya want to, scalp if you want to. Once again I'd like to say I am an average dad who loves the hobby of GI Joe and I want my kids to enjoy the hobby too. So that is my point. I didnt figure so many of you guys would crucify me because of my stand but hey go figure right? so, YES YOU CAN ARMY BUILD/ YES YOU CAN SCALP IF YOU WANT TO AND YES YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE IF YOU WANT TO. Sorry I ruffled the fethers of my fellow tankers I just thought I would start a meaningful dialog and try to help those of us who wanted to share the hobby with future tankers (our kids). THanks for a good conversation and thanks for an insightful image and cross section of those who we share the hobby with.

Still an awesome custom with the assessories and all and the fact that it's carded makes it oh so much sweeter.
Now it's my turn to rant about the topic! First off, I don't think we should get excited about our differences in opinions. This is an online forum for discussions afterall. Perhaps we all need to remember that there is a difference between discussion and debate. In a discussion, you should welcome the perspective of others. In a debate, CLAIM EVERYTHING, CONCEDE NOTHING, and if defeated, ALLEGE FRAUD!!!! Anyhow, I SAY LET PPL DO WHAT THEY WANT. I'm sure there are plenty of scalpers out there sitting on huge unsellable inventory. Go ahead and waste your time and money in hopes of eeking out a meeger profit. Even if they make a few extra bucks, was it worth the long waits in line and driving all over town to get that inventory? When you factor in all the time and transprotation costs, did you at least make minimum wage in profits? Anyone who has to rely on scalping as a means for income, I'm sorry you career (assuming there's a career at all) doesn't allow you the luxury of enjoying your free time. Time that may have been better spent enjoying life. As for army builders, more power to you. The more we all buy at retail, the more Hasbro realizes that the brand is not dead and they need to make more. I'm glad we had the reissue Ret Trooper. I finally saw them in the wild. That was nice.
