Edit: He's part of the Micro Changers Series 2 line just now hitting at retail. They're calling him "Acid Wing". 2 and 3 were shown at Toy Fair. 3 is supposed to have Thrust and Ramjet in it

I never customized my Joes, but my dad did once for me. I had been wanting a chrome face commander, but it was a point in time where he wasn't available in stores anymore (~1985). A friend had the top of one and gave it to me, but he had no legs. At that time, my brother and I had the Dukes of Hazard action figures as well as the General Lee, all of which was in poor condition by then.
So, my dad took one of the dying Duke boys and removed the waist and legs, and using a rubber band, attached them to my 1/2 commander. I loved it and he went on to lead my Cobra army throughout my childhood. I still have the figure but have since replaced the fossilized rubber band with a replacement o-ring. I now think of him as Casual Friday Commander. I need to show it to my dad sometime. He'd get a kick out of seeing it again. I'll post a pic soon!

When I was a kid we all decided one to to make the ultimate Joe by combining a number of body parts from various figures. I can't remember what we called this character but it was Skidmark's head, Gnawgahyde's chest, Marauder's Sgt. Slaughter's arms, on Night Force Sneak Peak's leg's (my contribution). It was an abomination but we thought it was bad-ass.

I did almost the same thing, I mean I made a classic Hulk Hogan into a NWO Hogan but my base figure was the WWF Hulk Hogan the one where you would pull his arms back and let go and his fist would come smashing together. Sadly I threw it away a long time ago with the rest of my toys never think I would get back into this hobby :(

Most of my customs back then were LBC headswaps or painting in details.
