This is my 1st custom. I've wanted to do one for years, but just haven't gotten around to it. When I 1st saw the Ninja Combat Cruiser, I knew I had to make the ME Stinger!
Then I saw all the other tankers versions and couldn't wait to get started. I used the wheels off the John Deere Gator John Deere 6" Monster Treads Lights and Sounds Gator: Vehicles, Trains & Remote Control : Walmart.com. Someone else on here had used those and I thought they looked great. I tried to keep the colors original to the ARAH version, I didn't match them up exactly, but you get the idea. I added silver to make it looked chromed out. I used flat black. This is my 1st try, so go easy. I still need some paint touch up and did miss some areas. I also love seeing the LED's in the Joe/Cobra vehicles, so I gave it headlights and tail lights. I got the LED's items from Model Railroads, Model Trains, Model Railroad Scenery I could of done a better job on the fab, cut a little too much off the front part of the chassis and drilled out one of the rear screw posts! The dio was built by Tanker RangerJoGo. Hope you like it. Comments and questions welcomed. Last edited by hahoo3; 09-24-2014 at 07:28 PM.. |

Some WIP pics. I used a metal Rod for the axle that I bought at the local hardware store. I just took a drill bit the same size of the John Deere trucks axle and drilled holes in the NCC wheel part and slid the metal rod through. Then I attached the wheels. I did notice that I put the rear wheels on backwards! LOL I'll have to correct that. I also need a way to secure the 9v and switch for the LED's.

Man, that's really impressive. I love the new wheels. I almost did something similar to my. NCC, but wasn't sure I'd ever find another one so I opted to redo the colors it came in. Now I need another. Rattlerrepros has a set of replacement stickers for pretty cheap that would really seal the deal.

I love it! Great job on the Lights! If only I can do it. The rubber wheels look great too.

Oh yeah, I had some stompers!! I forgot about those! Thank you! The lights aren't as hard as you think. I do have access to a soldering iron which is nice. |

Looks like a badass Baja-style offroader!
I HIGHLY recommend getting a set of Stinger stickers off of cobrastickers or rattlerrepros to round out the whole custom. The LEDs really are a nice touch, I must agree. By the time Hasbro moves their ass and decides to do an actual repaint of the NCC in Sting colors, everyone who would have wanted one will have already made their own... Again, nice work! |
