I'm at my wits end here. I cannot get the upper torsos apart on 25th/modern era figures. I've tried the exacto knife, table corner/hammer and channel lock methods. Nothing works. Can anyone help?

LOL. If that is what it looks like(wont let me enlarge the pic) it would definitely get it apart. But I need the parts to be useable.

It's all about weakening the bond/glue. Boil them first and periodiclly as they boil, take them out of the water and make a few passes over the seams with an x-acto knife. Eventually the scored line should be deep enough that you can pry the two pieces apart. I use an x-acto knife with the tip broke off, jam it between the two halves under the armpit, and twist. If you scored the seam fairly deep they should snap apart relatively easy. If you do f#*k the edges up while prying them apart don't worry, just smooth the area with an x-acto knife/ fine sandpaper. and putty (greenstuff) over the wider seam after the two torso halves are reconnected.

channel lock method has never failed me. I do however squeeze the locks and release a few times before putting too much force into it.
