Thank you mate. And tell monte he better post more pics of joes with your weathered (piece of art) accessories. It's freaking immaculate. What size of brush did you use to paint those pliers and wires on firely backpack?

If it wasn't for said awesome paint jobs, I'd be seriously considering selling my Joes; as it is I only have fifty or sixty of them. Between the line winding down (which eventually killed my passion for Sigma 6, owing to the lack of new figures to maintain the excitement) and the horrendous quality control nightmares (which affirmed my decision not to buy any of the 50th Anniversary figures, although to be fair I had mostly resolved not to do so anyway) and the fact that I've hit a wall 'cause I've been using the same backdrop for two years, I just can't muster much enthusiasm for Joe these days. Indeed, I'm gathering the next batch of toys for heymilt to weather... and very few of them are Joes. |

My computer was in the shop for a few days, but more importantly, I'm much more interested in Ninja Turtles at the moment, so I haven't been in the mood to photograph Joes... even Joes with kickass custom paint jobs!

NECA has captured my fancy, too, but I also want to pay heymilt to customize more stuff, pay for materials to build my own TMNT sewer lair, and... huh... there are many other things I want, but nothing I need, I guess. That's a nice feeling.

Ha. Well dreaming is always free mate. Have you done making a table top book of your pics? Or revamp your blog as a review / toy forum with your pictures (as well as some insights on the picture) much like Justin (from generalsjoes) or maybe take some commissioning works doing toy photography? It might be a good way to offset some disposable income (You already have the eye for details mate as well as the reputation both here and on flicker so why not make money using your talent?)

A book is definitely on the wish list, but it too costs money. I also want to just print some photos to hang up in my geek room, but that too costs money, so it keeps getting put off.
As for blogs, I just posted a goofy update on mine for the first time in well over a year, but the format is dead; people don't read blogs anymore for the most part. Forums might be going the same way, unfortunately. But I spend a disgusting amount of my free time window-shopping online and daydreaming about possibilities. Hell, it's all I've done during my summer vacation; going back to work in two weeks is gonna be rough! And making money in this hobby is much easier said than done, added to which I fear that making it about the money would detract from the carefree pleasure somewhat. I do appreciate the vote of confidence, though! |

I have some friends that branched out to photography to scratch their itch. It's a bit frustrating when you see some one as talented in both words and photos like you (and ALexx as well, god I miss his reviews) don't get the credit that you guys deserve. |

Thankfully, that's not the case; he was simultaneously posting them elsewhere... at Joe Customs or some such. So he still has them. And he's eventually going to post them all on his blog.
Pity all the comments are gone, though. |
